ePrime Northbound Subscription Service Facilitates the Cross-border Subscription of Bank of Nanjing Co., Ltd. 2024 Financial Bonds (Series 1)

5 June 2024

ePrime Northbound Subscription Service supported offshore investors’ cross-border subscription of Bank of Nanjing Co., Ltd.’s (the Issuer) RMB 26 billion 3-year 2024 Financial Bonds (Series 1), which was issued on 23 May and priced at a 2.24% yield. The seamless connectivity actualized between ePrime and the Bond Issuance, Underwriting and Distribution system of CFETS (iDeal) allowed offshore investors to complete their subscriptions successfully, which encompassed order placement, allocations, and the generation of confirmation tickets.

Mr. Wang Che, Head of FICC Overseas Sales and Trading of China Securities commented: "China Securities is dedicated to participate as the lead underwriter in the issuance of Nanjing Bank's financial bonds and to assist foreign investors in primary market through ePrime. Thanks to the support of the CFETS, Bond Connect Company Limited(BCCL) and CITIC Securities International, the integration between iDeal and ePrime enables more foreign investors to participate in the primary issuance of RMB bonds. Striving to promote the participation of more foreign investors and to serve the process of RMB internationalization is our mission."

Mr. Tony Wang, General Manager of BCCL, commented, “ePrime Northbound Subscription Service extends the accessibility of primary bond subscription in the China Interbank Bond Market (CIBM) for offshore investors. BCCL is delighted to work alongside China Securities again in facilitating offshore capital flows in the cross-border subscription. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with CSC in the future in promoting the China onshore primary market to offshore investors.”

In collaboration with CFETS and launched in October 2020, ePrime is an electronic solution for the primary bond market that spans across issuers, underwriters and investors specialized in the China cross-border workflow. It has two components to cater for issuance and subscription applications: ePrime Issuance Service and ePrime Northbound Primary Service.

ePrime Northbound Primary Service allows international investors to participate in the Northbound subscription of CIBM new issuances with onshore underwriters through the connectivity between ePrime and iDeal. It supports the cross-border subscription of various types of bonds, such as CGBs, PFBs, green financial bonds, MTNs, CP/SCPs etc, with 65 international investors onboarded.
