International exchange: living and working as an expat

In 2008, Christine started as a software system designer at Bosch in Austria. After being promoted to group leader, she decided to do a job rotation where she swapped her position with a group leader from India. After six years in India, she had the opportunity to move to Farmington Hills in the USA as Vice President and Regional Business Unit Manager, where she is still responsible for the development management of customer projects.

Over the past few years, Christine has experienced a lot — both at work and in her private life. Her family has been a strong support in her career, viewing the moves as enrichment, for which she is very grateful.

Professional change: from HR Specialist to Engineer

Jerry is passionate about technology and wanted to be an engineer as a teenager. On his parents’ advice, he studied finance instead. His dream in mind, he spent every spare minute learning about engineering. After graduating, Jerry was working in human resources departments for many years — since 2017 at Bosch in Suzhou, China. The dream of working as an engineer remained.

Then, in 2020, the opportunity arose: an application engineer position became available in the Two-Wheeler & Powersports division. Jerry applied, impressed the interviewers, and was accepted. Since then, he has been using Bosch tools and platforms such as the Learning Portal to continuously develop his skills in this area.

Seizing opportunities and embracing growth

Throughout her career at Bosch, Damla has demonstrated a remarkable ability to embrace new challenges and continuously develop her skills. Starting as an Accounting & Finance Responsible at the Bosch Home Comfort Factory in Manisa from 2010 to 2014, she then took the role of Regional Brand Manager at Bosch Power Tools in Istanbul from 2014 to 2017. Her journey continued as a Key Account Manager at Bosch Mobility Aftermarket from 2017 to 2019, followed by a transition to Cologne as an Expert Key Account Manager from 2019 to 2021. After her international assignment, she has excelled as an executive assistant to the top management in Türkiye for the last two years. This progression across multiple roles, business areas and locations showcases the wealth of opportunities Bosch offers to those eager to grow. She recently took on an exciting new role as Operations Manager in Bosch Service Solutions, marking yet another step in her dynamic career. She states that Bosch is fostering an environment that promotes stepping out of comfort zones, exploring new areas, and engaging with diverse cultures.

Change of focus: more time for private life

After leaving school in 1982, Reiner began training as a toolmaker at Bosch. After graduating, he joined the production department as a machine operator. At the age of 30, he had his first management position as a group leader in the technical area. His career at Bosch took him through various tasks and different business areas in Germany and abroad until he became head of department in 2008. After 40 years at Bosch and a sabbatical, he decided to work part-time to focus more on his private life. Since then, Reiner has worked first as a group leader in technology management and development and since 2024 as head of training and further development at the Blaichach site. In addition to his work at Bosch, he runs a mountain hut in the Allgäu with his wife, which they renovated during his sabbatical. This allows Reiner to combine his passions.

Angela started her career at Bosch as a recruiter. She then moved into the role of HR Business Partner, where she still supports a variety of teams. Angela has a deep passion for coaching, which she discovered while being coached herself. With the guidance and ongoing support of her leader at Bosch, Angela attended various local courses and an accredited international program. Bosch’s commitment to fostering personal and professional growth has allowed Angela to make coaching a central aspect of her work, where she now supports leaders in their personal development. Angela's goal is to become a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accredited by the International Coaching Federation accreditation, which will enable her to expand her impact at Bosch.

Welcome aboard

It’s decided: Welcome to your new team! Your future manager will contact you before your first day at work and naturally you will receive a new employment contract.

Next steps:

The first few days in a new company are important. So we will guide you as you take your first steps.

Those can vary greatly, since they are tailored to your future position and location. You will always receive an individual introduction plan with an overview of all measures that are important for you as you start your work.

Moving forward together:

You will also receive support from our “Bosch Buddy” program. Your personal Buddy will help you with all informal aspects and can put you in touch with valuable contacts.

Naturally, your input is also required, because in our agile environment, we especially value your specific prior experience and look forward to learning from each other.
