Such a lovely hotel one of the best we’ve ever stayed in
Multicultural Leicester has a vibrant feel, partly due to the large student population of De Montfort and Leicester universities. The latter lines Victoria Park, whereas Abbey Park covers both banks of the River Soar and houses ruins of a 12th-century abbey that was the burial site of Cardinal Wolsey.
Richard III was also buried in the city and a commemorative statue sits in Castle Gardens, by the Newarke Houses Museum and St Mary de Castro Church. St Nicholas Church overlooks the Jewry Wall Roman bath remains, while the tall-spired cathedral is next to the half-timbered, medieval guildhall.
Nearby are the Highcross and Haymarket shopping centres, as well as Leicester Market – Europe’s largest outdoor covered market. The city centre is packed with restaurants and bars, and the Golden Mile of Belgrave Road has a wealth of curry houses and jewellery stores. It also hosts the largest Diwali celebrations outside India.
Other entertainment venues are Upper Brown Street and the futuristic-looking Curve Theatre. Equally modern in design is the National Space Centre, while the National Gas Museum is near King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City FC. Leicestershire Golf Course is one of 8 surrounding the city.
The Leicester accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels with spas, guest houses near the train station and cheap inns with parking.

Everyone we came in contact with was kind, considerate and very helpful. It is so nice to go somewhere and have such a warm greeting.
A good selection of pubs and restaurants and of course the cathedral and King Richard the Third. Just outside Leicester is Bradgate Park and the glorious walk up to the Old John Tower folley.

Quaint Little Town with a beautiful square complete with diverse restaurants and little cafes. A lot of history, including the main cathedral where Richard the III's remains lie. The people are warm and friendly and there's a large migrant population that brings diversity to the cuisine available. Just a 25 minute train ride from Nottingham.

Leicester is a gem of a city northwest of London (just about 1.5 hours by train).
If you enjoy history, this city dates far back to ancient times - with Roman, Anglo-Saxons and Viking settlements. The importance of Leicester as a city in the Middle-Ages is worth your time to read about and explore. Do a little homework and then choose those areas to visit to satisfy your curiosity. Of course the history of any city is a mixed-bag of good and bad… and all worth exploring to have better understandings.
There is much to enjoy if you love architecture as the blend of ancient and modern is eye candy! Artists beware… you’ll want to sit and sketch or take pictures on many of Leicester’s lovely streets!
We did not stay long enough to explore this amazing city. We intend to return soon and again!

We were students at the University of Leicester in the early 1980s, so it was interesting to see how it had changed. The city-centre has many facets, which makes it an interesting place to visit. The historical aspects are now much better presented than they used to be - especially since Richard III was discovered! The market was always iconic, although it is being renovated at the moment - hopefully the new version will still maintain its old character. There are new shopping facilities now (both quaint lanes, and new high-end shopping centre), although the old main shopping streets now sadly need re-purposing - as in many towns and cities. Well worth a visit!

Considering the price, I think this hotel really exceeds my expectation. Leicester City Centre is actually not big so actually I can go everywhere on foot from the hotel. The host has upgraded me to a double room for free and it is in the back of the building so it is quite quiet. The room is not big but comfy and clean. Staff are very friendly and you can pay extra if you want a late check-out. I think I will stay here again if I am coming back.
The host was exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite lady! I had a fantastic stay! The room was perfectly clean and well-maintained, making it feel incredibly welcoming! It's with a great location for people who need/want to visit the city centre of Leicester, it took me no more than 10 minutes walk. I highly recommend this place for everyone looking for a comfortable room to stay in the city centre of Leicester!! Definitely will book again!
Great location near to the train station and city centre. Excellent value for money, cost was cheaper than most other options nearby but would've expected a quiet and clean room from any hotel or apartment, which this wasn't.
Beautifully decorated room and en suite with it's own unique character. Comfortable bed. View over the road to Leicester cathedral. Quiet location despite being in the city centre.
Excellent position for visiting Leicester City centre. There's a beautiful pedestrian route all the way. 15 mins to centre.
Plenty of parking at the hotel.
