FAQs about hotels in Nerja

With whitewashed houses perched on rocky cliffs backed by the Sierra de Burno mountains, Nerja certainly has a picturesque setting. Other than from a boat, the best place to admire it is the so-called Balcony of Europe, a viewing platform overlooking the rugged coastline and turquoise waters.
Below the platform is a panoramic restaurant, and there are more restaurants and shops in the narrow town centre streets, as you would expect of a Costa del Sol resort. However, Nerja’s distinct character differentiates it from the high-rise resorts. Its relaxed feel and Blue Flag beaches attract families, and there are good diving spots off neighbouring Maro.
The town is spread over hills, and below one just outside town the Nerja Caves stretch for over 5 km. Concerts are held in one cavernous chamber.
A 19th-century, multi-level aqueduct spans a gorge to the east, while to the west the Rio Chillar cuts through rocks to form a waterfall. The nearby donkey sanctuary also houses the occasional other farmyard animal. Dating back to the 17th century is the Hermitage of Las Angustias, and El Salvador Church is on a square looking out to sea.
Booking.com’s Nerja accommodation includes luxury beach hotels, guest houses with pools, and cheap apartments with parking – particularly handy if you arrive by car from Málaga Airport.

Nerja has many gorgeous beaches to choose from, many restaurants of all cuisines (China House Restaurant, Bar Redondo and Isabel Resto to name some) and is close to the mountains for lovely walks. Its a really spectacular setting. I rarely visit places more than once but have now been to Nerja 3 times such is my love for the area.
It can get crowded, as most places on the Sol do, however, if you visit out of season, i.e April, October November, you'll still get great weather but less people.
Sunrises in Nerja are spectacular, either from the 'Balcon da Europa' or from one of the smaller beaches to the east of the centre.

Nerja a great place to visit, quite hilly, we did a lot of walking up to the Tuesday Outdoor Market and the Flea Market on Sunday, Loads of restaurants, bars, people are very friendly and lovely atmosphere. Saw a Flamenco show which was well worth going to 20 euros including drink! The Caves are well worth a visit on the train that takes you up and down. and Frigiliana Town is worth a visit too with its narrow streets and fantstic views.

Nerja is a large town with nice beaches.
Nerja is a large town with nice beaches. It still retains a rustic authentic feel. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from and the pedestrianised areas around town were very nice to wander around. There are local buses up to the whitewashed town of Frigiliana which is well worth a visit.

The breathtaking beaches, with their crystal-clear waters and soft sands, are ideal for sunbathing and relaxation. The iconic Balcón de Europa offers incredible panoramic views of the Mediterranean, making it a must-visit spot for both tourists and locals alike.
Nerja's charming old town, with its narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed buildings, is full of character. The local shops, cafes, and restaurants serve delicious food and showcase the best of Andalusian hospitality. I particularly loved exploring the local markets and tasting authentic tapas!

We’ve been many times over the decades. Fabulous place to explore all through the year although rammed and hit in the summer. This autumnal visit great to get sun and still enjoy the beach and Nerja.
Check out the caves and Frigliana if you’ve not been.

Beautiful place to stay. I booked here on the back of glowing reviews from Booking.com and I'm very glad I did. This hotel seems newly renovated and we loved the very fresh and contemporary decor. Very friendly reception staff and lovely pool. Great location with very short walk to restaurants, Balcon de Europe and the centre of Nerja. Would happily return to stay here. Only downside is the cost of parking (€15 per night during our stay).
Quirky, very modern hotel. Room with balcony and sea view was excellent. Rooftop sensational and library and other common areas also very good. Best breakfast in Spain with great choices of food available and emphasis on sustainability also appreciated.
It was our fourth visit to this hotel so we are very happy also with this stay. Friendly and serviceminded personell, nice breakfast and dinner (we had halfboard). Nice walk along the beach to centre of Nerja is a treat.
Location the hotel facilities pool and sunbathing terrace how spotless the hotel is and the wonderful staff and really lovely breakfast everybody seems to take pride in keeping this hotel one of the best in Nerja
I think this is my new favourite hotel! So beautiful and peaceful, with incredible views, and yet it's also a quick stroll to the centre of Nerja. Being able to take a lift right onto the beach was magic!
