New Jersey law enforcement agencies paid a controversial private police-training firm more than $1 million for training that promoted discriminatory and unconstitutional tactics, a state watchdog found in a new report.

State comptroller said firm helped officers hide their attendance at its courses. "The problem is bigger than we previously reported."

A new audit has found nearly 400 New Jersey police departments spent over $1 million total on a controversial training program known as "Street Cop."
