A woman has been arrested following a mass brawl outside a Belfast city centre hotel on Wednesday evening.

Footage seen by the Belfast Telegraph appears to show around a dozen people involved in arguing and fighting outside the Premier Inn on Alfred Street in the city centre.

At one point in the video a woman appears to be being trailed along the ground, with bottles being smashed along the road. In another moment, two women appear to be pulling each other by the hair.

At around 9.45pm four police cars arrived at the scene with police officers defusing the situation.

Police confirmed one of the women involved in the incident was arrested.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report of disturbances at a hotel in Alfred Street in Belfast City Centre at around 9.40pm on Wednesday 24th July.

"Officers attended and spoke to a number of people involved and remained in the area to prevent any further disorder.

"A 19 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour and was later issued with a Community Resolution Notice.”

The Premier Inn has been contacted.
