Inside the Icelandic plant turning CO2 into rocks
If we're to avoid the worst impacts of Climate Change, huge reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are needed. But according to the UN, that still won't be enough. Stepping up to plug the gap are a raft of new technologies aiming to actively remove carbon dioxide that's already in the atmosphere and lock it away for good. However, their impact so far has been small, so is it time to take the idea more seriously? To find out how it works, Adrienne Murray travelled to Hellisheiði in Iceland to see a project where machines are sucking CO2 directly from air.
