A fundraising event to promote the RNLI's work in Guernsey is taking place this weekend.

On Saturday, St Peter Port RNLI's all-weather and inshore lifeboats will be open for viewing in Victoria Marina from 10:00 BST until 12:00 along with a lifeboat from St Helier.

The RNLI said other activities for the Flag Day included a fundraising swim at 14:30, organised by the Guernsey Swim All Seasons group, souvenir stalls and sea shanty singing.

The charity said souvenir stalls and lifeboats would also be on the seafront on Sunday.

St Peter Port RNLI has two lifeboats - the Spirit of Guernsey and Harold Hobbs.

The latter was a recent addition to the RNLI with a naming ceremony held on 28 June.

The vessel is named after Harold Hobbs, a lifeboat crewman who was killed when a Nazi aircraft shot the boat he was on board in June 1940.
