Passenger cut free from car after Boxing Day crash

A passenger had to be cut free from the mangled wreckage of a car after a crash, police said.
It happened on Thursday at about 03:45 GMT on Jurby Coast Road, which runs between Bride and Ballaugh.
The Isle of Man Constabulary confirmed three people had been taken to hospital with "non-life threatening injuries" following the single-vehicle crash.
The island's Fire and Rescue Service said hydraulic cutting equipment had to be used to free one of the passengers from the grey Subaru Legacy.
A section of the road was shut for seven hours while police investigated what had happened.
The fire service said it was an "avoidable incident" that had "unfortunately spoiled the Christmas period for all involved".
Crews from both Ramsey and Kirk Michael attended the scene, along with the fire service duty officer.
Calling for witnesses to come forward, a police spokeswoman said: "Whilst we appreciate this collision occurred during the early hours of the morning in a remote area, we are still appealing for anyone that may have seen the vehicle involved on the roads prior to the collision."
