The capacity issue at Guernsey's main hospital "has stabilised", according to health bosses.

On Wednesday, the office for health and social care (HSC) said 14 surgeries had been postposed at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital (PEH) with further disruption possible.

It previously said there was a "seasonal issue with demand outstripping available capacity".

In an update on Monday afternoon the HSC said the hospital was now "back to normal in terms of how PEH is running operationally".

It said: "All elective surgery is going ahead and the capacity issue has stabilised."
