Yesterday (Tuesday) I received 51 day old ranger chicks. One of them appears to have hatched without a top beak and eye. She is just as alert and active as the others and I have seen her drink successfully with no problems but I have yet to see her eat. I was thinking she would be able to scoop feed as she does with water but I'm not sure that the opening of her mouth is big enough even for the crumbles to get through, so today I brought her in with another chick that was lethargic after the trip and didn't make it, and created a small brooder in the house in a bin with heat, electrolyte water, and some crumble soaked in water hoping it would be mushy enough for her to eat. I gently put her beak in to show her where/what it is but she immediately flicked her head, seeming to not have appreciated that at all. I stuck my finger in it and gently applied a tiny amount to her tongue and she sort of swallowed it but shows no interest in eating on her own. I'm not sure how she can possibly survive like this. What do I do? Enfamil for 9 weeks until processing? Not likely... Do I euthanize or is there something I can do?

Poor thing. Even if she survives for a bit, her quality of life would be so poor and I wouldn't be surprised if the other chicks eventually start picking on her because she's weak. I personally would cull.
