Dr. Delgado graduated from Vasser in 1967 and from the Medical School of the University of Michigan. She served her residency in psychiatry at Montefiore Hospital & Medical Center in the Bronx, where she was certified with specialties in neurology, psychiatry, and administrative psychiatry.
Dr. Delgado joined the New York State Mental Health System and became the director of the Children’s Psychiatric Center in New York City. Dr. Delgado was the former president of the Black Psychiatrists of America in 1973–74, a Sol Ginsburg Fellow of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry, a member of APA, and served on the APA Scientific Program Committee from 1980–81.
