Pool Replastering in Los Angeles

Excellent experience from the beginning to the end. We had three different companies bid and provide plans to remove our old plaster while preserving existing tiles. While the bid costs were all about the same, this company seem the most knowledgeable and responsive. There was no unnecessary additions that other companies tried to push. Calling Alan Smith Pools for re-plastering was the best thing we have ever done. This company is top-notch professional. From the very start, they made the entire process very clear and performed exactly as they promised in a timely manner. But it's more than that. The company work crew came in and "chipped" the pool and removed the old tile and all the debris. The crew then prepped the pool for new plaster and tile, and installed a new, efficient bottom drain. The new tile was installed and plastered, then the pool plaster was poured and worked to a very smooth finish. In line with recommendations, we did replace the filter in the filtration system. The last step was to refill the pool. The overall work was excellent, very professional and better than new. We are pleased with the decision to keep the pool. The work crew gave us explicit instructions on the care and maintenance for the critical time period that the plaster sets. My swimming pool needed a re-plaster and new tile. I had originally planned on getting this done in the fall, but things got really ugly with the old plaster (serious algae issue), so I went ahead and called Scott Lillywhite and he said he could take care of it the following week. Scott’s crew came out and removed the old plaster in less than half a day. They were real troopers considering it was in the middle of a heat wave. The tile and plaster installation portion of the project also went very well. All the workers went about their jobs, despite the heat, in a polite and professional manner, and after each day they left the work area clean. It only took 3 days for them to get the job done. The fiberglass surface appears to far superior in durability to typical plaster, and pebble-tec. The warranty is 15 years and expected to last longer and stay looking new. We could choose the color we wanted. We had severe cracking issues in our old plaster and the work done to correct that for the future appeared to be exceptional. I had never heard of fiberglass resurface for a plaster pool, and I am so glad that I found this as an option. The company and its people were all professional. The work was done in a timely manner. The final product looks so good. They retiled for us as well and that work was also excellent. The person used to replace all the filter/heater/pump was also excellent. The price was more than typical basic plaster, yet if that lasts a couple years without discoloration or chipping, I believe the cost is far better. OUR EXPERIENCE STARTED OFF FAIRLY WELL. THE WORK PERFORMED WAS CLEAN, NEAT, AND IN A WORKMANLIKE MANNER. A TILED MERMAID WAS ALSO INSTALLED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL, WHICH LOOKS NICE. HOWEVER, AT THE END MY POOL WAS NOT TAKEN CARE OF WITH THEIR START UP, WHICH WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. MY POOL BECAME BROWN AND LOOKED HORRIBLE. WE CALLED THE COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES A DAY FOR 3 WEEKS WITH NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE. WE EVENTUALLY HAD TO HIRE ANOTHER POOL COMPANY TO CLEAN UP THEIR MESS. THIS ALSO COST A LOT OF MONEYshow more

Jeff, the contractor, was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely professional. He kept the dates up. They were not late. They were some who were a little late. It was nice that they were prompt with hours. We had to do something before they could come and do some work. Everything was wonderful. We compared their price to other people, and their price was reasonable. The pool looks wonderful. He knew that we had only a few days during the Christmas vacation that it had to be done, and he was right on top of things. We were so pleased. We would recommend him to anybodyshow more

I needed to upgrade my pool when we decided to sell our house. We got competing bids from two companies we found on Angie's List and our pool service provider. Lilywhite's quote was the middle price but I was very impressed with Deborah, she was the one who walked the job and gave us the bid. I have done construction management for over 20 years as a chief engineer in high rise buildings so you get a good feel for a contractors willingness to be accountable even if things don't go their way. We decided not to do the pool and instead put the money into other upgrades in the house, but our realtor talked us into doing the pool instead. That meant doing the pool while showing the home, not the best idea. But it actually went better than I thought it would. The workers cleaned up every day, they didn't play loud music, they didn't swear or yell or any of the stuff I was use the dealing with. Long story short the pool came out great and onetimeshow more
