BRING IT BACK AMAZON!!! WE NEED SEASON 2

It was a great show with promise, why did it have to be cancelled, there are a lot of other sub par series getting season 2s.

It was the right mix of Sci-fi, paranormal, and comedy and good character development. Yes, the last few episodes seemed a bit rushed but still the show had a lot more promise.

Genuinely great! Efficient and with very lovable characters. Thought the paranormal mythos relating to the characters (i.e., Astrid symbolizing trauma for Elton John) was done spectacularly. Real shame stuff like this gets canceled, but without a ton of commercial appeal it can't be particularly unexpected

Im a fan of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, so when i saw this on amazon i was like "oh yeah im watching this".
It was a pretty entertaining show, Nick plays his character pretty well. If there was a second season i would tune in.

This turned out to be even better than I expected. My only complaints are that one, the final plot twist at the end seemed not to fit too well and two, this should have been renewed for more seasons. I agree with other reviewers that Amazon wastes too much money on utter garbage and ruining great fiction that it misses the boat. Amazon, please can your fantasy fiction dumpster fires and start paying attention to what people actually want to watch.

Hidden gem of a dramatically haunted comedy

Truth Seekers had a plot that bounced around between genuinely spooky, laughably far-fetched, and excitingly mysterious all within the realm of being a realistically day-to-day comedy about conspiracy theorists and paranormal believers that are becoming more and more pronounced in the modern world. I'm so glad that I found this while looking for things to watch around Halloween, but I only wish I had discovered its existence sooner. Nick Frost is in, what I consider to be, his most relatable role yet which doesn't rely as much on over the top humor. His relationship and banter with Malcolm McDowell grounds the show really well and gives us one of its best and most unexpected surprises. Sometimes I think the writers relied too much on the expectation of success and the show's inevitable renewal, but some of that was very good for the mystery of the first season. Emma D'Arcy and Samson Kayo were both incredible at moving the show forward past the initial focus on Frost and, by the 8th episode, gave the show a rousing ensemble of characters with independently interesting story lines. I'd say that the writers tried to insinuate and hint at too much of the character development and motivations of those played by Susan Wokoma and Julian Barratt. I'm sure this is in part due to creating so much story in just 8 episodes, but their characters didn't land much for me and felt like they had overly forced progressions. I really wish this show was going to be given a second season, but part of me would have worried that the believability may have started to go off the rails given time. The first two episodes of Truth Seekers though were generally some of my favorite I've seen from a novel comedy in some time. This definitely deserved a second series more than Sick Note.

Nice Mix of Creepiness and Fun

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost truly have a knack for this sort of thing. Nick Frost plays a telecommunications repair guy with a side interest in the paranormal and a back story that explains it. He is the star of the show and Pegg has a small recurring role as his boss, becoming more mysterious as the show progresses. Frost and his new trainee, played excellently by Samson Kayo, run into weird case after weird case - every episode revolves around solving one, but there is an underlying arc which advances through the eight episodes that make up the season.

The Pegg/Frost team has done a nice job with this show - not terrifying but definitely creepy. It isn't set in London, a good choice as it means the audience is treated to lots of shots of overcast countryside and isolated houses, adding to the feeling of unease. The cast is terrific and they play well off each other; the show as a whole relies on good acting and dialogue rather than CGI effects - making the scary bits all the creepier.

The episodes are framed in a similar way, with a cold open showing a scary past scene which will feed into the main plot of the episode. It's a basic journeyman approach but it works quite well, and as we slide into yet another lockdown I'd definitely recommend it for a nice afternoon or evening's watch.

Lots of fun, witty, and spooky

The first episode is good but the show gets even better as it goes along. It's fun, silly, witty, goofy, touching, and offers some great spookiness. All of the characters are appealing, and the performances and direction suit the vibe of the show. I liked the pacing, editing, and other technical aspects; the somewhat low-end feel works because the story follows a Youtube ghosthunter, so you stay in the feel of that kind of footage and presentation. It appears that the first season was done in 2020, so apparently they don't plan to do any more, which I think is unfortunate, as this show offers a lot and seemed to have a great team that put it together.
