A favorite!Wow!I loved this book so, so much and it is definitely one of my favorite books I've read this year. This book reminded me exactly why I love Penny Reid books and reminded me of the way I used to feel when I read her books, and how happy they would make my heart.I've read the knitting in the city series many years ago, and to be honest, while i did really enjoy that series, the Winston series was by far my favorite from the author. So when I saw she was writing a spinoff book about the children of the characters from that series, I was excited but also a little nervous. I wasn't sure if it would be good (I often find spinoff books about the children of previous books to be a hit or miss) and because I'd all but forgotten about a lot of those original characters I wasn't sure if I'd feel as invested in this book as others. But boy was I wrong. From the moment I started reading, everything came back. And very, very quickly I became so emotionally invested in not only the main characters, but their families as well. It brought back so many great memories of reading this series, things I'd forgotten about and reminded me that while I'd always loved the Winstons a little bit more, I'd still really loved and enjoyed the Knitting crew as well. And wow, did this book make me feel all the feels. I cried SO much, but I also smiled and laughed and just felt so freaking happy throughout the whole book.I loved Ava and Des so darn much, I honestly don't know how I'll move on not having more scenes with them together. I feel like there is still so much about them that I would love to see on the page and yet at the same time, I feel like the author does a wonderful job of taking us through so many important aspects of their relationship.Overall, this book is amazing and I urge everyone to read it, but especially if you are a Penny fan and loved her knitting in the city series. I think this book will be extra special for those who have read her previous books. I know this is a book I will reread int eh future and if Penny is interested, I would love to read more books about either Ava and Des or even some of the other second generation kids!2
