  This is the kind of book that I keep thinking about, even after it is finished. I loved Lamott’s summary of some of the familiar Bible stories I grew up with, but view now from an entirely different perspective. The concept of mercy is so needed today - It is something “not deserved” yet precious, and what we have been seeking all along. I’m hoping my book group will agree with me that is a book for us to read, to savor, to discuss, and to come back to.
