This is a long and fact-filled read. The author has produced a work that adds to his already established reputation. It's not to be read when you're tired after a long day, as it calls for concentration to keep abreast of the shifting loyalties, sometimes volatile career paths of courtiers, generals and advisers, not to mention the eye-popping numbers and exchanges of lovers. Highly recommended.
