I discovered this remarkable book while waiting for a friend. The title and introduction intrigued me. I had been looking for a book of short stories for my mom. She's elderly and in the final stages of a rare Parkinson's disease. She always loved to read. I wanted her care givers to be able to read something to her for a short but meaningful amount of time. The author only wanted "true/real" love stories. Several of these take place in the 1940's, the same time that my mom and dad were dating.
The stories are funny, sensitive, thoughtful, and memorable. Like the author suggests, read a few at a time so their true messages will stay with the reader. Some of them will surprise you. At first, you may not think of them as "love stories" but as you continue to read, you'll find that they are stories of True Love.
