  If you’re interested in the perplexities of how the horrors of Jeffrey Dahmer came to be, this really doesn’t give you clear answers. What it does give is a harrowing glimpse into a parent’s honest analysis of how he raised his son, the son who would become one of the most notorious and grizzly serial killers our world has ever known. In A Fathers Story, Mr Dahmer courageously attempts to understand what went wrong with his son Jeffrey. Thankfully there are very few ‘gory details’. It really isn’t about the murders per se but about his relationship with his son and the downward spiral he witnessed in him. I found this to be worthwhile read and even helpful as a parent. While in some ways it is a cautionary tale to pay close attention to your kids and the red flags you see, Mr. Dahmer could never have known his son would become what he did. It was extremely sad but also inspiring to see a parent while not accepting or in any way excusing his sons abhorrent actions also continue to love him and seek help for him to the end.
