Customer Review

I have tried to make this product work for more than a year and am finally giving up and throwing it away. The device stopped working within 30 days of purchasing it but because Polar support took so long to respond to my request for assistance, by the time I was able to talk to them, the 30 day deadline had already passed and they refused to accept a return. Instead, each Polar person I spoke with insisted that I run through all the troubleshooting steps on their website that I had already tried multiple times to no avail. It took several weeks to get them to acknowledge that the sensor was not working and send me a “new” one.

I was without the sensor for about a month before the “new” one, which was scratched and obviously used, arrived. It at least connected with the app, but only occasionally records workouts and that is only if the app is displayed on the screen at all times during the workout. If I want to lock my screen and put my phone in a pocket, forget it, I might as well not wear the monitor.

The app itself seems to have been coded by monkeys, it lacks the basic features that Polar’s main app has and has a number of bugs that have not been fixed in the year I’ve had the device. After the last update this week, I can’t connect the device to the app even after restoring the sensor to factory settings.

I have owned Polar chest strap sensors in the past and they were at least decent, but I dislike wearing a chest strap so I ended up purchasing this product. My experience with this product has been that Polar does not stand behind its products, and I might as well have taken the $100 I spent on this device and lit it on fire. After this experience, I won’t be purchasing any more Polar products, and would recommend avoiding this one.
