10 Rules for the Perfect Murder Audible Audiobook – Original recording
From James Patterson, the world’s bestselling author, comes a new Audible Original thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end.
After the killing of a prominent mob lawyer, NYPD homicide detectives Jacob Jackson and Caitlin Grimes start receive chilling, written “rules” for how to commit the perfect murder. "Rule number one for the perfect murder: Evidence is your enemy. Leave none behind."
Jackson (Reid Scott) and Grimes (Cobie Smulders) race to find the killer, setting them on a collision course with the city’s crime underbelly, and a perpetrator who seems happy to toy with them. “Rule number two. No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”
As the cryptic notes keep coming and the body count grows, the detectives must untangle the mystery to protect more innocent lives from being lost—including their own.
Please note: This audio drama is for mature audiences only. It contains violence and strong language. Discretion is advised.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2025It feels like you are listening to a cop show. Great book all around. If it was a tv show or a book series I would 100% be watching/reading more
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2024This full-cast audiobook with music and sound effects is an absolute gem. The immersive experience truly elevates the story. And that ending? Whoa! It took me completely by surprise. No spoilers, though—this is one twist you'll want to experience for yourself!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2024It was nothing special...helped me kill time.

1. The story was meant to be told rather than read; which is a good set-up for an audiobook.
2. Quick listen.
3. Hit many of the who-dun-it basics - serial and connected murders; logical red herrings, I did not see the twist at the end coming.
Disliked
1. While a short story, the character development was just as quick. So, the relationships among characters could have been left out entirely as these episodes lacked in emotion and context.
2. While the twist was interesting, the means does not justify the ends.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2024I really enjoyed this book. For me, it was like listening to an episode of Law and Order (the irony being is that Reid Scott does play a detective on the actual show). The ending certainly was not what I expected. I hope that Reid Scott does more audiobooks like this one because I certainly will be reading/listening to them as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2024I am now hooked on Theatrical performed audio books. This was AMAZING and so damn entertaining. Great story but it was the perfect cop performances' by Cobie Smulders and Reid Scott that made this audiobook great! A short read or listen but entertaining either way. If you enjoy murder mystery's by James Patterson you will not be disappointed. HIGHLY Recommend.
