The first thing I noticed upon opening the package was the crisp fall colors of these cloth napkins. The almost immediate thing I then noticed was a prominent chemical smell.
I laundered the napkins, and the smell was gone.
They laundered nicely, with just a few wrinkles upon removal from the dryer. The wrinkles were not enough to require ironing, unlike other cloth napkins that we have used.
They are not a highly absorbent material, but then, I don't feel that is what the use of cloth napkins are for. They are more for drying fingertips, or dabbing your lips after a bite or sip. These napkins will serve this purpose nicely.
As of yet I do not know how stain resistant this napkins are, but I would imagine with a proper presoak and laundering, they should be fine. Just don't let any stains set in.
Overall I am happy with these napkins, and will use them for Fall Family Dinners. Perfect for Thanksgiving!
I gave 4 stars primarily due to the chemical smell (that did wash out) and the napkins are not perfectly square (only noticeable when folding) and to me, 5 stars would mean there are zero negatives. If I could give a 4.5, I would

These napkins are very pretty for a fall table setting. They are absorbent and wash and dry nicely. I fold them immediately from the dryer, and there is no need for ironing.

I don't feel the need to wash after every use, and instead wash them about once per week. This seems more environmentally friendly - I may actually purchase more for different seasons, I am so pleased with these. And it's nice that we don't have to purchase paper napkins.
