All I Want for Christmas Audible Audiobook – Original recording

3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 10 ratings

When a doctor and nurse with very different views on Christmas are thrown together on a decorating committee and bond over a special patient, they each learn the most important Christmas lesson: All they want for Christmas is each other.

Dr. Allison Hall is staring down the prospect of her first Christmas in a new town and her first without her son, who is spending the holiday with her ex. As the new doc on the block, she's on duty for the Christmas shift and glad of it. When one of her favorite patients lands back in the hospital, and it looks like this might be his last Christmas, she hopes she can help connect him to his estranged daughter.

Dante Price thinks Allison should mind her own business. He's a nurse - and admittedly a bit of a Christmas Scrooge. But when he gets put on a decorating committee with Christmas-loving Dr. Allison, he starts to see the holiday in a new light.

Soon the two are working together to deck the halls with boughs of holly - but can they pull off a Christmas miracle and reunite a father and daughter?

Cute Christmas novella

Cute Christmas novella
Cute Hallmark-esque Christmas novella. While faith-based, it’s a small part of the story. I enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine (well it was really grinchy/decorator) and office relationship dynamics.Doctor and single mom, Allison, meets nurse, Dante, at Mercy Hospital. Their views on Christmas and it’s meaning differ greatly. After working together with the same patient and decorating their hospital floor it’s obvious they have a lot to learn from each other.I liked that things with Allison’s ex are mostly positive and how Dante interacts with Allison’s son, Sam. Charming HFN ending fitting for a holiday short.Narration:While I speed up almost every narration, I had to do it even faster for these narrators as both of their deliveries were protracted. That said, at a comfortable speed I enjoyed their performances. They used a variety of character voices and brought through all the emotions of Stimpson’s writing.

This book was adorable and a great holiday read. It was a Hallmark-esque Christmas novella about Allison and Dante celebrating Christmas from different points of view, but it only had a small religious theme.

This was a sweet novella about Allison & Dante embracing the spirit of Christmas from different perspectives. Allison opened Dante's eyes to the fact that he can hold his morals while not disowning his family for not seeing it the same way. Dante showed Allison how to embrace a new normal for Christmas. This book was cute and a nice read for the holiday season!

    A Good Listen & A Good Story
I loved this story. I selected this from my 'Free' list offerings for December 2021. Free because I am an Audible subscriber, I do believe. It definitely was a very good choice. Happy Listening ! !

Bringing politics into a Christmas book is so completely disturbing! Complete junk!

Christmas has always been a special time for Allison, and she thrives on the season and the traditions that go along with it. This year is turning out to be difficult as not only is her son spending the day with his father but her attempts to help a patient isn’t turning out the way she wanted.

Dante is a nurse who wants nothing to do with Christmas however all his attempts to evade the season are unsuccessful when it comes to Allison and her son, but will it be enough to change his mind?

This a heartwarming story about life, love and family that is sure to touch your heart. I thought that the narrators were a perfect choice for the characters and their story.

Christmastime always makes us more focused on our relationships, especially family. This Christmas themed story is about complicated relationships from three different points of view. For such a short story it touches on quite a few—parent/adult-child, caregiver/ patient, exes sharing a child, a budding romantic relationship. It also makes us think about end of life choices and the gut reactions they inspire in all parties involved, and in a way it makes the characters examine their relationships with themselves. I guess we're never to old to experience new life lessons, or to reach out and mend fences.

The narration is good for the style that it's in. The male narrator's interpretation is more dynamic than the female's. This is more of an old-style narration ala pre-Audible when books were just being read, not performed. But for what it is, it's nicely done.

I loved listening to this little Christmas novella! Dr. Allison Hall and Dante Price (a nurse at the same hospital) disagree regarding a special patient and Christmas and are thrown together to decorate the department halls. She LOVES everything Christmas and he is a bit of a scrooge but they quickly find that they work well together and sparks start to fly. Working together on the decorations and on their special patient leads them both to realize what's really important for the holidays.
I like that single mom Allison gets a second chance at love with Dante and how great he is with that dynamic and steps right in with Ty. Very Christmas-y and sweet, quick listen that will warm your heart just like a Hallmark movie!
