Reaper's Rise: Ruthless Kings MC, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Nothing can end before it begins.
My beginning started with the death of my best friend.
And the kid he left behind...I had no idea what to do.
But I made a promise. Jenkins was my responsibility.
But he wasn't the only one I had. Raising a kid while being the president of the Ruthless Kings MC?
The club had as much influence over him as I did. But somehow, we made him a man his father would be proud of.
Then his sister showed up...covered in bruises. Fighting for her life.
Her attacker is going to learn a lesson he will never forget. Nothing is more dangerous than a woman with the Ruthless Kings by her side.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2021Reaper's Rise is the prequel to Reaper and the beginning of the Ruthless Kings series. Reaper is president of the MC. His VP, Hawk is dead and Reaper is left with his 10 year old son, Jenkins.
Jenkins is a handful. He has a thing for fire and lights everything and anything up. Just before Jenkins' 18th birthday a woman is on the steps beaten and broken. She latches onto Reaper as her protector. She has been abused and the Ruthless Kings plan on getting revenge, especially actor they learn her secret.
The book has some heavy themes but it also has funny moments. It is a great place to start if you want to read the Ruthless Kings series. The plot has an introduction to the guys and we get to see a bit of their personalities. These guys operate a bit in the grey area but they do have real hearts. It's not for everyone but I recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2020I've had sometime on my hands recently and came across this series. This is my very first MC series Ive read and I'm blown away.. (Boom-pun intended) I read the entire series before reading this prequel. At the time of this review I read all the Books avaible at the time from Bk 1 to Bk 6 in a total of six days...on the 7th I read this one.A book a day a new record for me. And I will NOT pick a favorite they are all amazing reads. Ive already pre-ordered Book 7 & 8. Sad that I have to be patient and wait for them, but happy to know I have something to look forward to as well. All of these well rounded characters have become like a second family. I love the depths of grey of each of there souls contain. I'm held captive, entranced and fully entertained with discovering the depths of what shaped each one of these characters into who they are in present day. Thank You KL Savage you do more then toe the line, thank you for one hell of a ride time and time again. These Ruthless Kings will do more then itch that scratch you've been desperatly trying to reach
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2020Reaper became the President of the Ruthless Kings eight years earlier when his best friend Hawk was killed. Since them he has considered Hawk’s son Boomer like he was his own and two years ago Boom’s sister Sarah came to the MC and she has been a temptation ever since.
Sarah experienced a childhood that no one should have to endure but when she found her brother when she was 16 he and the rest of the MC have become her family. She has been attracted to Reaper from the beginning but all her attempts to show her how she feels have been rebuffed as he is determined that he will not touch her until she is 18.
With Sarah’s high school graduation and prom fast approach so is her birthday. She is determined to claim the man she has always loved but there is a dangerous force surrounding them that will do anything to keep them apart.
I enjoyed watching Reaper and Sarah’s story unfold and am looking forward to the stories of the secondary characters as well. I enjoyed the performance of both narrators as they brought the gruffness of Reaper and the feisty side of Sarah to the forefront. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2021This was an eh, kinda ok book. Maybe? Ugh 🤦🏻♀️Sorry, I hate giving reviews of less than 4 stars and have debated giving it 2 but decided to stay at 3. I want to say that I know how hard it is to write and get published. I totally respect indie authors and only want to wish them the best so take this review as it’s meant ~ helpful criticism and NOT a knock down on you or your chosen profession. I truly respect your hard work. Keep doing what you’re doing.
But... The writing in this piece wasn’t great. How this book flipped through time was kinda jagged and very abrupt. Just giving bits and pieces and not giving you time to really get involved with any of the characters. There’s nothing there to keep you. Nothing to help you connect with any of the characters or draw you into wanting to know more about them. You spend so little time in one place in time that it’s hard to keep up. You have absolutely no emotional attachment to anyone that would make you want to continue on with the series. Especially when you look at the price of the other books...YIKES!! Sorry but I’m used to indie books being anywhere between $0.99 to $3.99.
It was rather disappointing that it ended the way it did, especially since I’m not sure I want to continue with the series. Didn’t know there was 15 books at 5 bucks a pop!!!! 😳
The writing, like I mentioned before, was abrupt and jerky taking you through, I believe it was 8 years in a small novella. Don’t get me wrong, I understand and enjoy prequels and novellas.
But the writing wasn’t great. There’s no character development, no pull to make a reader want to read more. I don’t even know why this book was written. It’s called Reaper’s Rise and I don’t know why. I didn’t get that from this book at all. If anything, it should be named “Jenkins Rise”.
I am sorry to say that I can’t see this getting any better. I cannot commit to a 15 book series on this book alone and don’t want to waste money seeing if the next book is written any better.
Honestly, and I mean no disrespect to the author because I know it’s not easy to do this, but I’d rather you re-write this book or completely take it down. You’re losing potential readers because of how this is written. Did you get better? More polished? Enable to get readers hooked on later books? Many will never know now. I’d seriously consider taking this down because it’s not a good way to get new fans. Look at all the negative reviews. Maybe deleting this one would help you? I know if I hadn’t read it I’d have been a lot more open to trying book one.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2020Getting to know Reaper and how he went from no responsibilities (except for his club boys) to being a dad to a little boy who is destined to follow in his deceased dad's footsteps was filled with bits of humor, embarrassed moments and then it all changed when Sarah shows up.
Sarah has a crush on Reaper but he knows she's young but she is tempting. This is a prequel and makes your curiosity piqued to how the MC life and a young temptation is going to cause Reaper to feel things he's definitely not ready for.
I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
Ruthless kings MC is an amazing read definitely read Reapers Rise before Reaper, I somehow managed to read the 2nd book first but either way it’s definitely worth it, the guys are all a little crazy in their own way but seriously normal is boring and this book is definitely not that!! Read it you will be glad you did 💗

4.0 out of 5 stars Provides important insight into the characters
I got about 20% into Reaper before I felt like I was missing something, checked the description of the book, and realized that I’d missed a prequel. Reaper’s Rise is only a novella at about 100 pages, but it provides much-needed insight into how Sarah and Jenkins came to be living with the Ruthless Kings MC.
That said, this could have easily been incorporated into Reaper in the form of flashbacks, but given that this novella is free to read, it’s not that big of a deal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reaper’s Rise (Ruthless Kings MC Book 1)
The story has humour and horror and would be an exciting read if better edited. A whole paragraph repeated, spelling errors and bad punctuation tried my patience, but the idea is good and the pace is fast. Hope the other books in this series fare well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond love it
Savage has a way about her writing that draws you in. Your connect with all her characters, your emotions get tied up with theirs it's one heck of a roller-coaster emotional ride. I have yet to find a writer that tops her.
