The sound quality is tremendous and it was so easy to setup. I bought it refurbished and you can't tell it was used. Looks and works like new, packaging like new for half the price. I am so happy with the sound quality. I had an Echo Show that this replaced as the sound wasn't that good. The show can go in another room and this beauty will play the music.

We've been using a first-generation Amazon Echo (the tower type) since it first came out ages ago. Recently, though, it began acting a bit wonky and it was more than a challenge to get it set up again properly, as the software apparently changed a lot across time. Time for a new device.
We got the refurbished 4th generation version of the Echo for half of what the new one cost. Like with other Amazon refurbished items, it was indistinguishable from a brand-new version and works just as well. We use it as an alarm, a white noise machine, an answer-machine, and an internet radio (especially for WMVY and WUMB). It works great, much better than the first-gen model ever did. It understands verbal commands much more easily, sounds considerably better, and looks a lot better, too. We like its round form better than the older tower model.
Consider this a ringing endorsement of both the current Echo and Amazon's refurbished products program!

I like the audio quality compared to other regular Alexa speakers. If you get it under a deal, it’s worth it!
Sometimes when the volume is high, the voice does not get recognised well. Other thing I hate is if we connect / disconnect a phone, it keeps talking out loud about the status of connection which wakes up the kids sleeping in the room. Wish they had a option to customise the phone connection status with audio (with a tone or speech) or visual (light) only mode.
