I have 8x42's. I get crisp and bright images with quick focus changes. These are great at zoo or at the park to observe birds or boats. While not xtra heavy, I find they are a bit heavy to do overnight hikes with as I try to stay around 20 lbs or so. For day hikes they're great and the harness works well even with a pack on. The neck strap is padded but after hours of carry you'll feel it in your neck.
I use these also to scan a park for subseqent nature photos. The field of view is excellent and these perform at a level of more expensive binoculars.

I use it immediately, need not to calibrate anything. The focus knob is precise and smooth to adjust.
This binoculars with ED has superior image quality and is even comparable to my Canon L lenses. Images are bright and razer sharp with very good contrast. Color is a little bit washed out compared with direct vision.
10x42 is a good combo for me. It's not big, not small, not heavy, not light, no shaky, no plain. With straps and caps, it weighs 747gram, about 2 cans of drinks.
What I’m disappointed: broken cap ears as shown in my photos. Do they have any QC? Don’t want to return or look for customer service for it will take time. It eats up one star from my ranking.
