I don't normally like compilations, but I really liked this book. I found many, many cases I had never read about & can now investigate further. If you overlook the poor editing (which seems to be the case in many books these days) & don't need in depth information, it's a good read.

There are a few I had never heard about. There were one repeated story and at least two on Ted Bundy and along with a few others talking about him. There are some very interesting ones that make you hold your breath and shake your head.

The narration was good but after a while I found my mind wondering. There are no character voices but in this type of book it isn't needed. There are two places where he repeats words, he doesn't show any emotions which I would say for this type of story is normal. With no character voices and no emotion is why I think my mind wondered. There are no volume changes, and no background noise. All in all I think he did a good job.

The repeating of the story I am not sure if that is the narrator or the author. For me one of Ted's story was more than enough. I did enjoy the books but I think maybe it is more of a read and not listen to really be able to be drawn in.

    I'm biased...

I could listen to Kevin Pierce read the phonebook - when there were phonebooks.

This is truly a complete and comprehensive deep-dive of the best true crime stories to date. If you're a newbie --- take it slowly. But, I guarantee - you'll become a fan - real quick-like.

If you don't have traffic where you are --- how about a rainy day. And, don't forget the fav beans and a nice Chianti.

This book is depressing and exhausting. Who knew there was soooooo much bad in this world. I lock my doors, look over my shoulder and even keep a baseball bat by my bed. Seriously, this could have been better. Or maybe I shouldn't have tried to listen to the whole thing on audio in a week. Anyway, my appreciation of true crime has always been how authors give us the depth of the people involved. These shorter stories are, in many cases, lacking that. If you are buying the audio, the narration is very good. My advice is.... Don't try to read it all in a compressed time frame. Maybe a lighthearted love story would break up the blood, guts, depravity and frenzy of this book.

I loved this book...as much as you can love a bunch of murder I guess. What I loved beside the bite-sized stories is the narrator. Kevin Pierce is my favorite narrator (get the audible).
I am a huge fan of true crime books but sometimes every detail and emotion of every part of the story makes it longer than it has to be in this collection you get the important parts and conclusion.
