The Books of Enoch: The Angels, The Watchers and The Nephilim: With Extensive Commentary Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
The well-known and acclaimed work of Dr. Joseph Lumpkin has been enlarged to include new research on the Books of Enoch, Fallen Angels, the Watchers, and the Nephilim. After presenting extensive historical backgrounds and brilliant translations of The First, Second, and Third Books of Enoch, Lumpkin takes time to piece together a historical narrative of Fallen Angels, the Watcher, and the Nephilim, using his extensive knowledge of ancient texts.
The history of the fallen angels is sewn tightly together using such books as Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees, The Book of Giants, The War Scrolls, and many others. The story will astonish you.
New information on the First Book of Enoch is greatly expanded. Lumpkin describes the calendar of Enoch and its pivotal place in the prophecy of Daniel. He takes First Enoch apart, section by section, to describe its history, the time frame of authorship, and its contents. Copious notes are included throughout.
This volume, containing The First Book of Enoch (The Ethiopic Book of Enoch), The Second Book of Enoch (The Slavonic Secrets of Enoch), The Third Book of Enoch (The Hebrew Book of Enoch), and The Book of Fallen Angels, The Watchers, and the Origins of Evil. Expanded commentary is included for the three Books of Enoch, as well as the sections on angels, prophecies, and the Enochian calendar. These sources are found here, all in a single source.
Dr. Joseph Lumpkin is the CEO of Fifth Estate Publishers and the author of over 20 books. He appears regularly on LA talk radio and the show Rain Making Time as an expert guest on the subjects of religion, theology, and church history.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2018Where do I begin with this review? So many thought are swirling around in my head after reading this book. I suppose my first thought is outrage that there was a concerted effort to ban certain books to prevent the Common People from having knowledge that was deemed by The Powers That Be to be counterintuitive to the Officially Sanctioned Knowledge. The Common People were thought to be too stupid to interpret certain books, too gullible to withstand the wayward teachings therein, and too uneducated to apply reasoned analysis. Well, there’s one thing the Common People have always had in abundance, and that’s Common Sense.
I believe that thought censorship is wrong. Censorship of information is therefore wrong as well, with the noted exception of parents who must protect children from the harsh and perverted realities of life and ensure the accuracy and suitability of information. Parental censorship of books and other media that children are exposed to is not only acceptable—it is a parent’s moral duty to perform.
The Council of Laodicea in 364 A.D. resulted in the suppression of forty-one texts and letters which the early Church Fathers decided should not be included in the Bible or read out in church. Among these was the Book of Enoch; yet Jewish historians had valued the Book of Enoch for thousands of years as Midrash literature—i.e., “extra-legal material of anecdotal or allegorical nature, designed either to clarify historical material, or to teach a moral point.” (Lumpkin)
There is a plethora of information and stories in this book concerning the creation of everything, the structure of Heaven, the history of the human race, the introduction of evil, the natures and mandates of various classes of angels, and the REAL reason for the Flood of Noah, among others.
For those uninitiated in the tales and rumors concerning Fallen Angels, this book details the reasons why certain of the angels abandoned their eternal life in Heaven and came to live amongst the humans, and describes the grotesque nature of their hybrid offspring—giants, elves, and monsters. These are the creatures that inspired Greek, Roman, Viking, Celtic, Saxon, Assyrian, Babylonian, Hebrew, Egyptian, Native American, Hindu, African, Japanese, Chinese, Aztec, and Mayan cultures to write about gods and goddesses, Titans, giants, cyclopses, Minotaurs, Grendels, Chimeras, Elves, dwarves, leprechauns, succubi, centaurs, hydras, dryads, gorgons, griffins, harpies, Cerberus, satyrs, sirens, sphinx, vampires, fauns, mermaids, kinnaras, echidnas, nure-onnas, ganeshas, karuras, narashimas, sobeks, thots, Valkyries, fenghuangs, fairies, amazimu, ogres, goblins…
Fact or fantasy? As I always say, “There is no draconsfeura without a dragon,” and it is highly unlikely that every ancient culture around the world could share these myths in common unless we all had a shared origin and the same cultural experiences during our early life on Earth.
This book by Joseph B. Lumpkin also includes fascinating information from the first and second Books of Adam and Eve, the Book of Giants, The War Scroll, the Book of Jasher, and the Book of Jubilees. It is interspersed throughout with helpful notes and explanations by the author, and while I do not agree with some his analyses/opinions, yet I highly recommend this resource to inquiring minds, and to Christians who want to know more about their religion.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2024I can say that I am pleasantly surprised at how Lumpkin does interject passages from the approved biblical canon and has a preface section for the clueless like myself. When Lumpkin adds these passages I believe it comes from the KJV because that is not copywritten. These insertions as well as commentary allows an individual to use one's own discernment related to the obvious influential connections of this source material upon the canon. I have found that seeing relatable passages side by side, rather than solitary footnotes, adds clarity to the canon.
Fact from the book: The Ethiopian Christian Church incorporates the chapters of Enoch into its version of the canon.
Jesus and the Kings of old referred to the Book Of Enoch.
Minus one star only for the reality that we do not have copies of the drawings, diagrams or the lists mentioned in the passages. But this is not the fault of the author or the publisher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting
One of the books that was jettisoned from the Bible hundreds of years ago. Interesting to read it and speculate why. Important reading for anyone interested in how Christianity has evolved and what role the Church had in choosing what could be read and what could not.

5.0 out of 5 stars A terrifying truth that we all should know!
My amazing Ethiopian friend told me I had to read this book before the Bible. He has read the original complete Ethiopian Bible in Amharic which hasn't been edited and is Orthodox Christian so ofcourse I trusted his word and so I did and I'm glad I listened to him instead of others.
There are parts in this book that absolutely destroy the view on the Heavens, Angels and even God. It's absolutely terrifying and I now understand why the people in the past removed certain books and especially this one which I'll explain in my rating later. And reading the 1-star ratings, I see how the modern bibles, especially the kjv, has mislead people into believing the wrong thing, biggest of them all is that God forgives just like that while He is actually terrifying, his power is terrifying and doesn't just forgive after you pray to Him. The Angels are actually scary too and even they are afraid of the power of God. It made me realize how powerful He is and that we live in a world where we sin and think we will be forgiven everytime we pray to God but we won't! You just shouldn't sin. Most of us won't ascend to the Garden of Eden because we mess up cus we listen to the wrong books, people or no books at all. Enoch was the first one to be taken by God alive because he was so true, God didn't want him to sin so He took him and even he was terrified of God while he never sinned in his human life. And that's so so important to know! Why would the first living person who was taken up to heaven NOT be extremely important?? How???
The people who rated this book with just 1 star completely miss the point. It is MEANT to be terrifying because we are supposed to be terrified by God so we won't sin. But we learned that God is so kind-hearted while He is the one sending the floods that still happen to this day, the war in Gaza and ww 1 and 2. Who started slavery and every prediction that has been written down!. If we mess up, we get the full blow. It's that simple. In this book it is described how, when the Angels sing the Trice Holy infront of the Lord, how it shakes the Pillars of Heaven and creates floods and earthquakes on earth. How terrifying they sound and not angelic as we usually learn. And when they mess up by singing it in the wrong order, God will destroy them and create new angels to replace them just like that every single morning, that's how terrifying Heaven actually is. The ones that do sing it right get (I think it was) 3 crowns and have to repeat it the next morning where they can still mess up. And that's what we all should know. It shares a truth that if we all knew it, we wouldn't listen to the government and sin, follow them. We would completely surrender to God because we would be terrified to sin, exactly how God intented life to be. And that's exactly why they took this book out of the Bible. Cus they'd lose their power if we knew and understood the point of this book. That's why you don't just read a Bible but why you should do research on the most complete bible and read those books. I don't go to churches where they don't teach about this book. And I haven't found one yet that does teach it in my language (only Amharic and Ge'ez cus Ethiopian churches do teach it) cus I don't wanna follow something that's incomplete. I went to an incomplete church and the Dominee figured out I knew. He tried to convince me with the weirdest things and 2 days after that church I got terribly sick. Once you know... So focus on what they keep secret from you and go to the original sources.
Long rating but really, don't be fooled by the 1-star ratings and the incomplete bibles are part of the agenda.
Good luck with your journey to the truth!
