CIA Rogues and the Killing of the Kennedys: How and Why US Agents Conspired to Assassinate JFK and RFK Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
The US Central Intelligence Agency is no stranger to conspiracy and allegations of corruption. Across the globe, violent coups have been orchestrated, high-profile targets kidnapped, and world leaders dispatched at the hands of CIA agents. During the 1960's, on domestic soil, the methods used to protect their interests and themselves, at the expense of the American people, were no less ruthless.
In CIA Rogues and the Killing of the Kennedys, Patrick Nolan fearlessly investigates the CIA’s involvement in the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy - why the brothers needed to die and how rogue intelligence agents orchestrated history’s most infamous conspiracy.
Nolan furthers the research of leading forensic scientists, historians, and scholars who agree that there remain serious unanswered questions regarding the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, fifty years ago, and Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. He revisits and refutes what is currently known about Lee Harvey Oswald and Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, and offers listeners a compelling profile of the CIA’s Richard Helms, an amoral master of clandestine operations with a chip on his shoulder.
Bolstered by a foreword by Dr. Henry C. Lee, one of the world’s foremost forensic authorities, CIA Rogues and the Killing of the Kennedys is an unmatched effort in forensic research and detective work. As the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination approaches, Nolan has made a significant contribution to the literature on that fateful day in Dallas, as well as shed light on that dark night at the Ambassador Hotel. Listeners interested in conspiracy, the Kennedy family, or American history will find this audiobook invaluable.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2016This book is fabulous but real, credible, and well documented. My father was attorney to one of the hypnotists who has been documented elsewhere convincingly as someone who had a therapist relationship with Sirhan. I was intrigued to find several readers commenting that much of this has been covered elsewhere and better than Nolan. "Pay no attention to the wizard behind the curtain." They pay these people to throw us off the scent, never forget...
Interestingly, I find that David Talbot is cited frequently and that I was at military school with him for 5 years a half century ago, though we never spoke back in those days, different circles, but I remember him and his brother Stephen well, around the campus. He is involved with the publisher Skyhorse, through Hot Books, and has done a great deal of very important research on these Kennedy martyrs, as well.
In fact, he entered that military school a few months before JFK was shot.
Small world, as ten years ago I began to get more incrementally involved in JFK and RFK research as well, only to find he is a leading researcher on these subjects, and coup d'état. It has an importance that cannot be undervalued, as a metric of American and indeed world history.
One of the major strands of these tapestries is of Nazi swastika origins. Nazi Intel was a big player in the early formation of CIA. It is not an overreach to say that those roots intersticed with Dulles bros., reached back into the 1920s Germany.
If that seems too "theorist", nota bene that Otto von Bolschwing, infamous Nazi monster of the Death Camps, lived in ease as an executive for a computer leasing company in SACRAMENTO, Ca., until he died there in the mid-Seventies. It was the CIA itself that covered up his Nazi past completely, until he was "found out" and taken to task by Uncle Sam in his last days, already dying of a fatal brain disease.
Well, so much for that. Better late than never, right?
Right??
Absolutely riveting book by Nolan, with over a thousand references to documentation.
Solid.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2014I read this book in a couple of days and found it quite conclusive in as far as he goes with the MK-Ultra program. Naomi Klein first published The Shock Doctrine back in the early part of the last decade. She goes into quite some detail about a program I should have known about, but did not. H. P. Albarelli Jr. wrote a convincing book about this same program with respect to Dr. Frank Olsen's murder. The CIA used the same methods, specifically psychedelic drugs to rid themselves of a member of the inner club who suddenly developed a conscience. The government settled Dr. Olsen's family's lawsuit for I recall $750,000.00 in 1975. The alleged suicide was changed to murder, but to my knowledge not one person was charged much less convicted of this heinous crime.
I am more inclined to believe Sirhan Sirhan was a victim of this same unsavory method of mind control based on both the defense and prosecution use of hypnosis that to this day has erased virtually all memory of Sirhan in regards to that tragic night in L.A. on June 5, 1968. To a lesser degree I suspect Intelligent Agent Lee H. Oswald was also a victim of this illegal method of mind control.
The author spends significant time discussing both Richard Helm's and James Angleton's role in the development of of the notorious MK-Ultra mind control program. He delves deeply into both men's long intelligence careers, more than most any of the several hundred books I have read regarding the public execution of President Kennedy.
My issue with the book is not what is in it. Despite others comments about "research" and using only a small number of sources compared to say James Di Eugenio's excellent book Reclaiming Parkland, the documentation of witnesses and government officials (particularly the L.A. Police Department) is extensively documented. There are numerous accounts of witnesses in both executions who were ignored or discredited by local and national agencies. In the RFK execution there is no question that the scene of the crime was tampered with and the number of bullets far exceeded the bullets in Sirhan's pistol. The fact that RFK was murdered up close from behind to his right is without question. All of the witnesses to a person stated Sirhan was always in front of RFK and could not have shot RFK in the back of the head from his position in front of RFK. The evidence that was ignored, discredited or destroyed is eye-popping.
My argument with the book is it does not due justice to the conspiracy's scope. I do not believe for a second that Allen Dulles was not behind MK-Ultra program. The CIA was and continues to be a powerful, unaccountable fourth branch of government that represents the interests of the imperialists that controlled and continue to control our foreign policy. To blame these two psychopaths for both executions is not supported by the facts and research of many devoted historians who are not connected to the lame stream media. It is my opinion that both Helms and Angleton were guilty of everything Mr. Nolan points out, but they were following orders from the likes of Dulles, Kissinger, Rockefeller and the other powerful corporate interest they obey. The CIA is not a rogue agency, by definition they represent the powerful bankers, businessmen, oil billionaires and the Counsel Of Foreign Relations. They might be rogue, but so is the entire structure of the Intelligence apparatus that works for the establishment. There have been dozens of books published that indicts the CIA for hundreds of murders overseas, for Coup d'etat's, for regime change that installs puppet dictators favorable to US business interests. That the JFK & RFK murders were any different than the oversea shenanigans is not supported by serious scholars.
I would recommend this book for the deep background on Helms and Angleton alone. The chapter on RFK is very convincing knowing what we now know and did not know in the late 1960's and up to the mid 1970's. The chapter on Oswald and the execution of President Kennedy is well researched, but covers ground many other researchers have previously covered. If you are unaware of programs like MK-Ultra and Operation Paperclip as well as Operation Mockingbird, it is time to get informed. I loved the quote at the end of the book attributed to President Jefferson. "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and never will be."

- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2014A truly exceptional work with keen focus on the alleged assasins and their personal lives. The author really hones in on the MKULTRA hypno progamming activities utilized by the CIA at the time to effect predictable behavioral modification.Contains many of the lesser known details of the RFK murder and many facts of the ensuing coverup fingering Sirahn as the gunman. If you doubt the existence of the MKULTRA program just read the biography of Marita Lorenz. It is riveting. Patrick Nolan has produced a volume which will open your eyes to the deceit and lies fed to the world by the media and elements of the government. The author presents hard evidence and facts, not personal opinion. One of my favorites.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2014Both Lamar Waldron's and Patrick Nolan's book should be read since they complement and reinforce each other. But no definitive evidence one way or the other since the CIA, NSA, FBI agencies involved haven't released ALL the materials or destroyed them... Politics is the art of deception and secrecy the tool of deception. Its history and people don't live in past, they live in the present. That's why transparency is anathema to politician and bureaucrats or what a call the governing elites. National security is invoked every time they need to hide controversial information from the public that years later when made available under the FOIA have become irrelevant, except probably historians and others, who may be driven to write about past evens.

5.0 out of 5 stars and destroy countries regimes and ideology to gain the outcome of what it believes is the greater good of not just america but t
a really enjoyable fast paced book that concurs with my own leanings on the grim fates that befelled both the kennedy brothers...i always believed it was the CIA with possible or highly probable help from the mafia and the dallas police...one only has to read about the factual evidence of the CIA Mafia collusions in the 50s and 60s that in terms of dead witnesses is only bettered by the dead witnesses in the ultimate murder of the most important man on the planet Jack Kennedy to see a pattern...this pattern is then linked with the lone gunman nutter social misfit (yawn) who killed the three most famous liberals of the 1960s JFK Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King jnr to see how the CIA literally got away with murder...but not with a few dissidents in a far away country...but the three biggest prominent liberals of modern times.....this is mind blowing.....the CIA would stop at nothing to destroy the soviet menace and the threat of communism in south east asia and in a little place the mob used to run with CIA help Cuba...to summise the CIA will in cold blood kill anyone..frame anyone...and destroy countries regimes and ideology to gain the outcome of what it believes is the greater good of not just america but the free world....bobby kennedy for me is where we see proof that lee harvey oswald was a patsy......bobby was left alone until he decided to run for president...as soon as he did the plan was set in motion to kill him...which begs the question why...simply because he would have discovered the truth about his brothers murder....nether murder makes sense in that they were killed by left leaning nutjobs...when both brothers were as left as you could get with having an hammer and sickle on your chest...and yet nixon was never a target..perhaps because he played ball with the hawks meant he was safe until watergate...and that link is explained in this book.....buy this book you wont regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic
Superb account of JFK and Brother Bobby's assassinations...to a point......does not get to the real top men behind the slayings. Obvious now that the 2 "culprits" were nothing more than "patsies". The depth of depravity to which the CIA and other enforcement bodies sank is scary. How easily American justice can be manipulated and innocent people framed is highlighted here......I have read another 10 or so books on this subject and this book is a keystone......it brings a lot of the theories and unknowns together particularly on the day of JFK's slaying. Characters and plots drop into place now. Amajor base for further reading
