A New York Times Best Seller!

Richard Belzer and David Wayne are back to set the record straight after
Dead Wrong; this time they’re going to uncover the truth about the many witness deaths tied to the JFK assassination. For decades, government pundits have dismissed these “coincidental” deaths, even regarding them as “myths” as “urban legends.”

Like most people, Richard and David were initially unsure about what to make of these ‘coincidences’. After all, events don’t “consult the odds” prior to happening; they simply
happen. Then someone comes along later and figures out what the odds of it happening were. Some of the deaths seemed purely coincidental; heart attacks, hunting accidents. Others clearly seemed noteworthy; witnesses who did seem to know something and did seem to die mysteriously.

Hit List is a fair examination of the evidence of each case, leading to (necessarily) different conclusions. The findings were absolutely staggering; as some cases were clearly linked to a “clean-up operation” after the murder of President Kennedy, while others were the result of ‘other forces’. The impeccable research and writing of Richard Belzer and David Wayne show that if the government is trying to hide anything, they’re the duo who will uncover it.

Skyhorse Publishing, as well as our Arcade imprint, are proud to publish a broad range of books for readers interested in history--books about World War II, the Third Reich, Hitler and his henchmen, the JFK assassination, conspiracies, the American Civil War, the American Revolution, gladiators, Vikings, ancient Rome, medieval times, the old West, and much more. While not every title we publish becomes a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

This is a good book for learning about the JFK assassination.

Understanding who was murdered and when and why they were murdered leads to a lot of insights into the assassination itself.

Besides the individual murder cases the book also provides some great information about the various methods the CIA has at its disposal for killing people.

They also provide great info about the JFK assassination such as the massive lapses by the Secret Service in following official procedures for protecting the president. The list of people who could have authorized and orchestrated those procedural failures is short. They name some names about who the individuals were who screwed everything up in Dallas.

The Agency that orchestrated these murders of witnesses has at its disposal vicious, ruthless, professional killers. These guys make the Italian mafia look like a cub scout troop.

Although then again as this book points out the conspiracy was a combination of people from the CIA, the mafia, anti Castro terrorists, and some key individuals such as Lyin' Lyndon Johnson and J. Edgar Hoover.

Books like this indicate that a lot was at stake for people to take the extreme step of assassinating the president of the United States and then leaving a trail of dead witnesses a mile long to cover everything up.

John Kennedy was standing between the Military Industrial Complex and the wasting of literally trillions of dollars in the so called Vietnam War.

There never was any real military objective in Vietnam. There was only one primary goal which was to string the conflict out for as long as possible and waste untold amounts of money.

A lot of the questions about the JFK assassination could probably be answered if JFK's body was exhumed and a real autopsy performed.

The Military Industrial Complex will never, ever allow that to happen however.

There's some interesting statements near the end of the book by New Orleans District Attorney and hero Jim Garrison.

Garrison and others saw the JFK assassination and the murderous cover up that followed as an overthrow of the American government that put the United States on the path of becoming a fascist state similar to Nazi Germany.

After World War II however the Nazis were tried for war crimes.

No such justice was ever meted out to the war criminals who orchestrated Vietnam.

This is a good book and I recommend it for anyone who is interested in the JFK assassination.

Read it and also make a note of all the other books they refer to in the footnotes and read some of those also.

I found this book to be most insightful about JFK, the assassination itself, all the parties (possibly) involved and, especially, the beyond crazy aftermath!!! I had no clue that a few people in very powerful positions could ever get that paranoid or feel that threatened by so many nobodies. In the end, all those nobodies became somebodies sadly through their deaths from on purpose accidents, obviously faked suicides that never made sense, but all cases were closed quickly or outright murders. I learned more from this book than any other source of history I've read, watched or listened to over the years. Surprisingly, some things made a lot more sense. It was like finding more pieces to a really old puzzle you’d given up all hope it could or would ever be completed. I don’t think it’s totally complete, but many more pieces have been added so the picture is starting to come into view.

You don't have to be into conspiracy theories or JFK to find this book interesting. Released earlier in the year, this sat unread on my Kindle for months until I finally had time to read it.
I'm not going to summarize in detail here, but this is one of those stories that is not based on one incident happening or one thing that by nature looks odd or screams "suspicious!". It is something that accumulates or piggybacks as too many seemingly isolated things happen and a pattern starts emerging and it is left to someone to connect the dots and try to make sense of it all.
I am not the type that is capable of providing a scenario for Kennedy's assassination and who actually shot all the bullets that rendered the president lifeless, but Belzer and Wayne offer plenty of odd happenings that reveal a pattern that is anything but random to even the most casual observer. They had me at Mary Meyer, JFK's mistress du jour around the time of his assassination.
I may be a little enchanted with Belzer, an actor and comedian who has spent years on tv as a detective on Law & Order: SVU. Who better to speak with authority on crime? I'm kidding on that one, but the individual narratives make sense while not being bogged down in banter that is heavy and boring. Co-author David Wayne appears to be the professional writer that organizes and parses words deftly that makes this book and their previous collaboration together an enjoyable and thoughtful read.
While not to be classified as great literature, this is a thought provoking book that takes on the Kennedy assassination and its conspiracy out of the realm of quackology and makes common sense out of all the seemingly unrelated deaths.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Billion to One Hit List
Reviewed in Canada on March 4, 2024
Hit List by Richard Belzer meticulously dissects the mysterious deaths of key witnesses linked to the Kennedy assassination. The book sheds light on a disturbing pattern of coincidence that defies statistical norms.

Belzer provides numerous examples of individuals meeting untimely ends under suspicious circumstances. From FBI executives like William Sullivan and Mark Felt to Mafia figures like Johnny Roselli and Sam Giancana. Many of those included in the book died conveniently just before their scheduled testimony at Congressional investigations.

The book reveals the startling fact that the actuarial odds of so many witnesses dying unexpectedly within a short period of time were a billion to one. This staggering statistic is something that the mainstream media has failed to pick up on.

By contextualizing these suspicious deaths, Belzer builds a compelling case for the deep state's role in orchestrating both the assassination and the subsequent cover-up.

Hit List is a sobering read that offers both the casual reader and Kennedy aficionados greater understanding of the circumstances of the assassination and the cover-up, which continues to this day.
