The West Asian Women's Handball Championship or AHF Women's President Cup since 2023, is the official competition organised by the Asian Handball Federation for senior women's national handball teams of Western Asia.

The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Asia. It has 44 member countries, mostly located on the Asian continent, but excludes the transcontinental countries with territory in both Europe and Asia – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russian Federation and Turkey – which are instead members of European Handball Federation (EHF). Three other states located along the western fringe of Asia – Cyprus, Armenia and Israel – are also EHF members. Hong Kong China and Macau, although not independent countries, are also members of the AHF.
The women's handball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics is being held from August 9 to August 23, at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium and National Indoor Stadium in Beijing. Twelve nations are represented in the women's tournament.
The 2010 Asian Men's Handball Championship was the 14th edition of the Asian Men's Handball Championship, held in Beirut, Lebanon, from 6 to 19 February 2010. It acted as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2011 World Men's Handball Championship in Sweden.
The Afghanistan Handball Federation (AHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball in Afghanistan. Founded in 2004, AHF is a member of Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF).
Handball Federation of India was founded by Jagat Singh Lohan from Rohtak, Haryana, who was an alumnus of YMCA College of Physical Education of Madras. His efforts during Munich Olympics helped in establishing HFI. The member states were Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Vidharbha and Jammu and Kashmir. He was also elected as first secretary general of Handball Federation of India.
The 2019 Asian Women's Youth Handball Championship was the 8th edition of the championship held from 21 to 30 August 2019 at Jaipur, India under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. It was the second time in history that championship was organised in India by the Handball Federation of India. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2020 Women's Youth World Handball Championship.
The 2020 Asian Men's Handball Championship was the 19th edition of the championship held under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation in Kuwait City, Kuwait from 16 to 27 January 2020. It acted as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship.

The Handball Federation Singapore (HFS) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball in Republic of Singapore. Founded in 2008, HFS is a member of Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF).
The 2021 Asian Club League Handball Championship was 23rd edition of the championship held from 12 to 21 June 2021 at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation (AHF). It was the third time in history that the championship was organised by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2021 IHF Men's Super Globe, with top team from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be held also in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al-Duhail SC won the final 27–24 against Al-Kuwait SC for their second Asian Club League title.
