Ubisoft Film & Television (formerly known as Ubisoft Motion Pictures) is a French-American film and television production company and a subsidiary of video game publisher Ubisoft based in Montreuil and Los Angeles. The company was founded on 2011, and is in charge of producing films and television shows based on Ubisoft franchises and inspired by Ubisoft's worlds and gaming culture.
Ubisoft Film & Television was created as Ubisoft Motion Pictures in 2011 as the film production branch of the video game company Ubisoft. Its mission is to bring Ubisoft's games into new areas of entertainment and share original stories set in the world, culture, and community of gaming.
In 2012 and 2013, Ubisoft Film & Television announced a whole lineup of movie adaptations, including Assassin's Creed . [1] On the TV side, the studio released its first kids' show Rabbids Invasion in 2013. The show, which premiered on Nickelodeon and France 3, was renewed for a second season in December 2013 and a third one in 2015. A fourth season was announced in July 2018 and was broadcast on Netflix worldwide. [2]
Following the success of Rabbids Invasion, Ubisoft Film & Television and the French theme park Futuroscope opened the Raving Rabbids –based attraction The Time Machine in December 2013. The attraction, which has been awarded the Themed Entertainment Association Award [3] for "Outstanding Achievement" in 2014, takes visitors for a trip through the great moments in History.
The company's first feature film, Assassin's Creed, opened in theaters in 2016 and starred Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. The same year, GameSpot reported that Ubisoft is in talks with Netflix for a TV series based on their video games. [4]
Tom Clancy's The Division is in development as a feature film for Netflix with David Leitch, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jessica Chastain attached. Additional feature films in development include Just Dance , Rabbids, and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon , executively produced by Michael Bay for Warner Bros.
The studio has greatly expanded its TV series lineup. Several animated projects [5] were announced in September 2019 and a first live action TV series was launched: Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet on Apple TV+. This project is also the first not to be attached to any Ubisoft game franchise. The series, which stars an ensemble cast that includes Rob McElhenney and F. Murray Abraham, has been renewed for a second season. [6]
In June 2021, Netflix announced it had picked up Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix from Adi Shankar as well as the Splinter Cell and Far Cry animated series during the Geeked Week. [7]

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is a series of stealth action-adventure video games, the first of which was released in 2002, and their tie-in novels that were endorsed by Tom Clancy. The series follows Sam Fisher, a highly trained agent of a fictional black-ops sub-division within the NSA, dubbed "Third Echelon", as he overcomes his adversaries. Levels are created using Unreal Engine and emphasize light and darkness as gameplay elements. The series has been positively received, and was once considered to be one of Ubisoft's flagship franchises. The series had sold 19 million units by 2008. No further installments have been released since 2013. A remake of the first game was announced in December 2021. Characters inspired by the game's "Third Ecehlon" faction are featured in XDefiant.
Far Cry is a 2004 first-person shooter game developed by Crytek and published by Ubisoft. It is the first installment in the Far Cry franchise. Set on a mysterious tropical archipelago, the game follows Jack Carver, a former American special operations forces operative, as he searches for journalist Valerie Constantine, who accompanied him to the islands but went missing after their boat was destroyed by mercenaries. As Jack explores the islands, he begins to discover the horrific genetic experiments being conducted on the local wildlife and must confront the mad scientist behind them.

Tom Clancy's The Division is an online-only action role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published in 2016 by Ubisoft, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. It is set in a near future New York City in the aftermath of a viral pandemic; the player, a Special Agent of the Strategic Homeland Division, is tasked with helping the group rebuild its operations in Manhattan, investigate the nature of the outbreak, and combat criminal activity in its wake. The Division is structured with elements of role-playing games, as well as cooperative and player versus player online multiplayer. This game also marks the debut of Massive and Ubisoft's Snowdrop game engine. Some of the game's characters are featured in XDefiant.
Rabbids Invasion is an animated television series based on Ubisoft's Rabbids video game series. It is a co-production of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, TeamTO and France Télévisions. The show was developed by Jean-Louis Momus, and stars Damien Laquet as the voice of the Rabbids.

Based on the Japanese video game series of the same name by Konami, the first two seasons adapt the 1989 entry Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and follow Trevor Belmont, Alucard and Sypha Belnades as they defend the nation of Wallachia from Dracula and his minions. Additionally, characters and elements from the 2005 entry Castlevania: Curse of Darkness are featured beginning in the second season, and Alucard's backstory is drawn from the 1997 entry Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
