Artem Yurievich Sitak is a Russian-born New Zealand professional tennis player. On 11 August 2008, he reached his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 299, whilst his highest doubles ranking of World No. 32 was reached on 10 September 2018, after the US Open. He is the younger brother of Dmitri Sitak, who was also a professional tennis player.
Philipp Oswald and Mate Pavić were the defending champions, but Oswald chose not to compete. Mate Pavić partnered with Marin Draganja, but they lost in the semifinals.

The 2016 Abierto de Puebla was a professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the 15th edition of the tournament, but the first since 2009, and was part of the 2016 ATP Challenger Tour and the 2016 ITF Women's Circuit, offering prize money of $100,000+H (ATP) and $25,000 (ITF) on 7–13 March 2016. It took place in Puebla, Mexico.
Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram were the defending champions but chose not to participate.

Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić defeated Adrian Mannarino and Fabrice Martin in the final, 6–4, 6–2 to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Astana Open.
