About us
St Giles is an award-winning charity using expertise and lived experiences to empower people who are not getting the help they need, held back by poverty, exploited, abused, dealing with mental health problems, caught up in crime or a combination of these issues. We enable people to overcome adversity through peer-based social action. The services we provide for 25,000 people each year cover help for vulnerable young people involved in or at risk of criminal exploitation, services helping adults and young people facing unemployment and poverty, help for vulnerable women and their families, prison and community-based support for people in the criminal justice system and specialist support for adults facing complex barriers. Many of our employees have been in the same circumstances and use their experiences to inspire and support those living through it right now. Being helped by someone who has ‘been there’ is powerful and underpins all of our projects.

As part of our #BlackHistoryMonth2024 celebrations, this week we hosted with Give Blood NHS and Berkeley Foundation a Blood drive to encourage our staff to register as blood donors and save lives. Thank you to everyone who registered.

🌍🍽️ World Food Day 2024 🍽️🌍 Today, on #WorldFoodDay, we celebrate the power of food to unite communities and the vital importance of ensuring everyone has access to nutritious, sustainable, and affordable meals. At St Giles, we are proud to be part of this movement, supporting families and individuals through our network of Pantries by not only providing healthy, nutritious produce but also offering tailored wraparound support services that address broader needs. Our mission goes beyond just food distribution, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, share knowledge about healthy living, and empower people to make informed, lasting choices. On this day, we stand alongside those striving to end food insecurity, reduce food waste, and build resilient, equitable food systems for all.
