Rainbowwave is a busy, multi-line fashion showroom located in Chelsea, New York. We represent many designers such as Brochu Walker, B-Sides Denim, Extreme Cashmere, Haikure Denim, Le Monde Beryl, and Ancient Greek Sandals. We work with the US and international markets, predominately targeting high-end retailers. We are looking for dedicated students or recent college graduates for a paid internship in our showroom during our September 2024 market season to assist during our busy selling period (selling Spring Summer 2025 collections). It is a perfect way to gain more experience in the industry; we are a small team and work closely with the designers who we represent. Many of the skills learned would be transferable if you are interested in working in the fashion industry, specifically buying and wholesale. We are looking for interns that can commit to the full duration of the internship. The internship will run from September 4th – 20th, excluding the weekends. The role includes: · Checking in and out samples received from designers · Unpacking, steaming, and merchandising collections in the showroom · Greeting buyers when they arrive for appointments · Swift running of showroom and smooth changeover of appointments · Dressing models during selling appointments · Ensuring the smooth running of appointments by maintaining a tidy showroom space · Remaining on hand during sales appointments to assist account manager (i.e. taking order notes and assisting in remerchandising collections prior to each appointment) The ideal candidate will be: • Pro-active, enthusiastic and a can-do attitude • Interested in fashion with strong presentation skills • Positive attitude, team player • Highly organized & dynamic • Meticulous attention to details • Excellent presentation and discretion Well-spoken and written English is essential.
