Ride across the Pyrenees in 100 hours - mission accomplished✅ We know our heroes love nothing more than a tough tough challenge and this week we have seen Lee Foster, Mark Buckby and John Hewitt take on the Pyrenees Raid. This brutal trek was 450 miles and 44,000ft of climbing in just 100 hours. Such a difficult challenge and they smashed it, what a fantastic achievement particularly in difficult weather conditions. https://lnkd.in/eTXBahyb Thank you to everyone for their words of encouragement, donations and for spreading the word of this challenge. Watch this space as our team are on their 1 week countdown to start their Kilimanjaro challenge💪🏻💪🏻 #fundraising #MentalHealth #PyreneesRaid #KellysHeroes

Raising Mental Health Awareness and Suicide prevention
About us
Kelly's Heroes is the new name for 'We Mind & Kelly Matters' which was formed in 2019 after the devastating loss of our beautiful daughter, sister and friend taken from us way too young following her struggles with Mental Health. Unless you are affected or know someone struggling with Mental Health it’s difficult to understand. There is often still a stigma associated with it, leaving many to suffer in silence, our aim is to raise awareness and help to prevent suicide. We all have a role to play in looking out for friends, family and colleagues who may be suffering. Pay special attention to some of the warning signs and it could be that just a few nice words or listening to them could be saving their life. The support we have received from the very early days has been amazing. Kelly touched so many lives and will be in our hearts forever, but this charity is her legacy, we can’t let people suffer on their own with this awful illness. All fundraising, donations are used for the charity and to support local mental health initiatives, such as MIND. We truly appreciate every donation that has been made and everyone helping to share and raise awareness with us.

Impeccable timing...it's almost as if I planned this... Exactly 3 years ago today I collected a big flex whilst raising awareness for mental health issues, suicide prevention and Kelly's Heroes, by summitting the Mont Blanc. Since then I have been on a mission to improve my own health and wellbeing by setting myself challenges that pushed my limits both physically and mentally. In January of this year I wondered whether it was possible to train for, and complete an Ironman Triathlon in 10 months with zero prior triathlon experience, and then set myself the challenge to do so. Whilst i had managed to improve my health and fitness over the past 4 years, when I started training in January I hadn't swam since I was 11, and I hadn't owned a bike since I was 13. The journey so far has been nothing short of incredible, and as expected completely mentally challenging, having to juggle family and business as well as having to continue to train rain or shine, with multiple injuries, and more recently having Covid. Since January I have ran 530 miles, biked 1750 miles and swam 93,150 yds. With 6 weeks left, I will again be looking to raise awareness and much needed financial aid to support the amazing work everyone at Kelly's Heroes does, and I would be eternally grateful to any of my LinkedIn connections and followers if they could support my challenge and the cause by donating a small amount to my Just Giving page: https://lnkd.in/d98uHevp If you are a Strava user then you can follow my training here: https://lnkd.in/diEAZTJy Also, please come along to the 'Amazing Northampton Run' aka the Northampton Half Marathon on September 15th where myself and the Dufeu team will be the main sponsor and also taking part. Could not be prouder of how far my little brother has come in the last 2 years. It took for him to hit rock bottom to realise the changes he had to make in his life. Now 2 years sobre he’s living life to the fullest. Always had a massive love of music and the outdoors, his latest venture up Ben Nevis this weekend 💪🏻 He would not be here without Kelly's Heroes and is taking on the kilimanjaro challenge to raise vital funds for them to continue saving lives. Please help me to support him now in smashing his target🙏 https://lnkd.in/eic-eax9 #MentalHealth #KellysHeroes #Kilimanjaro2024

Two-thirds of people who die by suicide are not in touch with mental health services in the year before they die, but they are almost certainly in touch with a frontline service like their GP, other NHS services, education, or social services. This means that services like these can play a vital role in identifying people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts and helping them reach the right support. With the right training and support frontline public workers can be potential lifesavers, and more people can get the support they need at the right time. We're calling on the Government to roll out suicide prevention training to all frontline workers.
