In the first installment of a four-part series looking Inside / Out of the BESPOKED SRAM Inclusivity Scholarship winners, our European correspondent Petor Georgallou joins Significant Other Bikes of Denver, Colorado.

Petor recently took a gonzo-style roadtrip through North America to visit four framebuilders who were awarded SRAM’s Inclusivity Scholarship to attend Bespoked in Dresden, Germany, last October.

The MRP Cage Guard Protects Your Expensive SRAM T-Type Derailleur

Contrary to the launch marketing of SRAM’s T-Type Transmission rear derailleur, only the hanger interface is virtually indestructible; the derailleur cage and pulley is susceptible to trail damage. MRP’s Cage Guard is designed to protect your Transmission derailleur pulley cage from costly damage caused by rocks and debris.

The Cage Guard is precision-machined in MRP’s Colorado factory from low-friction Delrin thermoplastic, designed to withstand impacts and glide over rocks. The 8 gram, $29.95 Cage Guard adds piece of mind. See more at MRP.

Wolf Tooth (Finally) Has 28t SRAM T-Type and Shimano Direct Mount Chainrings

If you like riding at a spinny cadence, you probably rely on 28t chainrings for 1x drivetrains. Until today, one of the leading component manufacturers had yet to make that ring size in SRAM and Shimano direct mount. Wolf Tooth just announced its new 28t rings for SRAM T-Type and Shimano direct mount.

Note: these rings will not work with SRAM’s T-Type bash guard.

SRAM Releases Cheaper, OEM-Only S-1000 Transmission Group

The new SRAM S-1000 Transmission groupset is cheap-er, but let’s be real: there probably will never be a “cheap” electronic drivetrain. The best we can hope for is that brands will close the price gap between electronic and mechanical groupsets. It’s usually slow. Shimano took two years to bring Di2 shifting from Dura-Ace to Ultegra, and then another eleven years to bring it down to the 105 level. But SRAM seems to want to close that gap much quicker, given their rapid expansion of the Transmission group.

Ratio Announces SRAM Transmission Replacement Derailleur Cage

Ratio, the makers who hacked 11 to 12-speed SRAM road to MTB with its conversion kit, just announced a SRAM Transmission replacement cage. The SR52T cage is a replacement for your SRAM Transmission cage–the cross-braced structure is designed for stiffness, the form and chamfering help it deflect away from any obstacles, and at 90g for the cage, it will reduce the weight of your SRAM GX* Transmission derailleur to less than all but the SRAM XXSL* model.

Available with or without pulley wheels at Ratio.

Wolf Tooth Aero Chainrings for SRAM Cranks

Earlier this year, Wolf Tooth announced aero chainrings for Shimano cranks and this week, the brand released its chainrings for use with SRAM gravel and road cranksets. Just like the Shimano rings, these SRAM rings were designed with performance in mind and feature a clean, integrated look that matches the profile of the crankarm or spider. New sizes include 46, 48, 50, and 52T depending on mount. They are compatible with most 12-speed chains and optimized for SRAM Eagle and Flattop chains, including Transmission. All Wolf Tooth chainrings are machined with 7075-T6 aluminum at Wolf Tooth in Minnesota, USA.
