How to Create Family Groups on YouTube and YouTube TV

How the family plan works

YouTube family plans allow you to share membership benefits with up to 5 family members who live within the same residential address.

  • The family manager:
    • Is the primary account holder.
    • Creates a Google family group and can invite family members to the group.
  • Family members:
    • Use their own Google account to access a shared membership.
    • Can view Primetime Channels content the family manager purchases. Members can also purchase their own individual Primetime Channel, which won’t be shared with the family manager.
    • Have their own personal library, subscriptions, and recommendations – we won’t share viewing preferences or watch history across family member accounts.
    • Age restrictions apply for family members <18.
  • Family groups share access to:
Note: Family plans are currently not available in Belarus, Iceland, Slovenia, South Korea, and Venezuela.
