The conversational AI tool is currently available in English to YouTube Premium members in the United States over the age of 18. To use the tool, you must be on an Android device.
The tool will appear on the watch page for select English videos.
This tool is also available to a small number of non-Premium members on some academic learning videos. On these videos, the tool can aid learning journeys by giving quizzes and responses that promote deeper understanding of the content you’re watching.

How does the conversational AI tool on YouTube work?
This tool is designed to provide answers to questions about videos you're watching. Responses are generated by large language models (LLMs). The LLMs draw on info from YouTube and the web. Learn more about LLMs and generative AI.
Generative AI technology is for informational purposes only. Don’t rely on AI-generated responses as medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.What data is collected? How is it used?
When you interact with this tool, we will collect data around your use of the tool and the queries and feedback you submit. This data helps us to provide, improve, and develop our products and services. Conversations connected with your Google Account will be deleted automatically after 45 days.
To help with quality and improve our products, such as the generative machine-learning models that power this tool, human reviewers may read, give notes on, and process your conversations with this tool. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. These steps include disconnecting your conversations from your Google Account before reviewers see them. We also use automated tools to help recognize and remove personal info, like email addresses and phone numbers.
Conversations which are disconnected from your Google Account and have been reviewed by human reviewers aren’t deleted automatically after 45 days. These conversations are kept separately for up to 3 years.

The feedback is:
- Reviewed by specially trained teams. Human review is necessary to help identify, address, and report potential problems raised in feedback, including as required under applicable laws.
