In his role as Program Manager, Chris supports strategy development and implementation of investment activity aimed at fostering community-level economic development in the North Lawndale community. This includes making grants and loans, engaging in joint ventures, and otherwise partnering to attract and/or support businesses and to increase wealth building opportunities for North Lawndale residents.
Prior to joining the Steans Family Foundation, Chris served as Program Manager, Neighborhood Investment at The Chicago Community Trust and Business Development Manager, Neighborhood Initiatives at World Business Chicago. Chris graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and a master’s degree in Economic Development from Loyola University Chicago.
Pick-up basketball is a passion despite his flailing attempts at the sport—let’s call him a student of the game. Chris is infinity curious, fascinated by a surprising range of topics. He is married to Jessie, a Chicago Public Schools teacher, and they have a daughter Posy (a future Chicago Public Schools student).
