Judith Jarvis Thomson

Judith Jarvis Thomson (October 4, 1929 – November 20, 2020) was an American moral philosopher. She was elected a member of the American Philosophical Society in 2019. She was known for her "violinist" argument.

In 2016, she was elected a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy.[1]

Thomson was born in New York City. She studied at Barnard College, Cambridge University and at Columbia University. Thomson died on November 20, 2020 at the age of 91.[2]
