Pope Gregory XII (Latin: Gregorius Duodecimus; c. 1326 – 18 October 1417), born Angelo Corrario, was an Italian cleric of the Roman Catholic Church and the 206th Pope from 1406 until 1415.[1]
Early life
Angelo Corrario was born at Venice.[2]
Bishop
Corrario was made Bishop of Castello in 1380. He became titular Patriarch of Constantinople in 1390.[2]

Pope Innocent VII raised Corrario to the rank of cardinal.[2]
Pope
Cardinal Corrario was elected pope on November 30, 1406.[2]
In the context of the Council of Constance, Gregory XII, resigned.[3]
In retirement, the former pope lived quietly in Ancona.
Western Schism
