Jesus College is on a single large site on a quiet side street in the centre of Cambridge. It was established between 1496 and 1516 on the site of the twelfth-century Benedictine nunnery of St Mary and St Radegund whose buildings, which included a huge church, were adapted to house it.
Founded in 1496, Jesus College became home to a small community of priests and scholars including the future Archbishop Cranmer. 1559 to 1671 Jesus College survived the turmoil of the 16th and 17th centuries and became home to a growing number of undergraduates.
Amongst our Fellows, Lecturers and Tutors are world-class academics focused on vital research to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st century, from the environmental and societal impact of climate change to new therapies to target diseases such as cancer.
Our undergraduate students come from a wide range of backgrounds, countries and cultures. We aim to attract the brightest minds, and are committed to raising aspiration and improving social mobility through a programme of access bursaries, worth up to £850 per year.
