Descreeption
English: In 1873 Lady Burdett-Coutts commissioned a statue and fountain which was erected at the southern end of the George IV Bridge to commemorate Greyfriars Bobby. Bobby was a Skye Terrier who reportedly spent 14 years guarding the grave of his owner, John Gray, until he died himself on 14 January 1872.
Nederlands: In 1873 liet Lady Burdett-Coutts een standbeeld en fontein oprichten ter ere van Greyfriars Bobby. Bobby was een Skyeterriër die volgens de overlevering 14 jaar het graf van zijn baasje, John Gray, bewaakte tot hij zelf stierf op 14 januari 1872.
