महादेवी वर्मा

महादेवी वर्मा (१९०७-१९८७) प्रयागनगरे जात:.

She was married early and the death of her father-in-law made such an impression on her that she decided to learn further. She completed her masters in Sanskrit soon afterwards and started teaching. Her descriptions of pain and sadness are extremely moving. She is one of the pillars of the CHAYAVADA, a modern movement in Hindi Literature,the remaining three being Suryakant Tripathi 'Nirala', Jaishankar Prasad and Sumitranandan Pant.
