What are the best aspects of this product?
As an end user, I find the interface fairly intuitive, and I think that's the biggest advantage of this tool. I work in a diverse community, where only a small percentage of people have experience in design and web development, but MailChimp has pushed its way towards everybody's desk. Most users are traditional marketers who have little (if not none) online marketing experience, and they still make the most of MailChimp. Definitely easy to use, I recommend it to versatile teams.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I don't exactly mind anything about it, but I guess there are few useful improvements that can be made. The way things function at the moment, you're supposed to open an account for every location, and it is because you can't use it the same way when different entities are concerned. It was the only way for us to divide users and lists, and it was successful, even if we spent some serious amount of time doing it. What makes it complicated, however, is being forced to improvise and to log in on hundredths different accounts, so I hope they will solve the thing as soon as possible.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We used to do email marketing with myemma.com, and it was a decent solution, to say at least. Our ambition for more functions and stronger integration points took us to MailChimp, but we never regretted it. Doing this, and saving at the same time was great for us,because we have a huge load of emails to send every day.
