I Can See You Shine presents the rich culture of modern Taiwan through its well-received teen rom-com genre.

Two high school girls, Young and Tung, are besties despite their opposite personalities and different backgrounds. Their friendship is put through the ringer as they try to navigate their way through problematic teen quirks, unrequited love, family complications, and dysfunctional high school life. If being a teenager wasn’t hard enough, one of them has to deal with the cultural minefield of being a second-generation immigrant.
