A Taylor Swift corn maze is open in Maryland. This fall festival, Taylor's Version, will usher in Swifties' autumn era.

GAMBRILLS, MD β€” Anne Arundel County is entering its autumn era with a Taylor Swift-themed corn maze.

Founded in 2006, the MD Corn Maze cuts its Gambrills field into a different design each year. Superheroes saved the day in 2023, and "Jurassic Park" dinosaurs roamed freely in 2022.

This year, the music superstar is all the rage.

The words "MD Corn Maze Taylor's Version" are cut into the corn alongside her 300-foot guitar. Swift's iconic heart hands, her 1989 birth year and her favorite number 13 are also part of the maze.

"It's the biggest topic in the nation, and everyone loves Taylor Swift," MD Corn Maze Owner Carol Paul told Patch in a Monday interview. "You'll just feel her presence everywhere."

Outside of the maze, attendees will find Swift photo-ops and friendship bracelets. A Swift lookalike will also make periodic appearances throughout the fall.

The fun is capped off with a Taylor Swift cover concert on the evening of Oct. 2. Tickets are required for the show, but the maze is included in the package.

"We're probably one of the only corn mazes that takes our theme into the farmyard," Paul said. "Taylor Swift is not just the shape of the corn maze. You'll see it throughout the entire event."

Paul and her four kids started brainstorming themes in February. Her youngest son's friend suggested the Swift idea, but she initially hesitated.

Paul said her immediate reaction was "That's ridiculous. We're not doing Taylor Swift."

After picking the brain of her Swiftie daughter-in-law, married to her oldest son, Paul realized the singer has widespread appeal across generations.

"It's the moms who pick where the family goes on the weekend, and it's the girls who pick where date night is, and that's who's picking who comes to my maze," Paul said.

Workers planted the corn seeds at the end of June. They cut the design two weeks later when the corn was 2 inches tall.

Opening day was Saturday. Families can now visit the farm any weekend and some weekdays through Nov. 3. Dogs are allowed in the corn field on closing weekend, making those days fan favorites.

Paul also aims to bring two new features to the farm every year. This year, she added apple cider donuts and paintball target shooting, which are available for an extra cost.

There are hay rides, a petting farm and a pumpkin patch on-site. Slingshots, zip lines and tightropes are additional highlights.

Guests can chow down on corn dogs and pizza before enjoying hot chocolate and funnel cake for dessert.

There are even flashlight nights where brave souls can conquer the maze in the dark.

Creative offerings like these have attracted thousands of visitors annually. Paul said her numbers double every year, so her fall festival is still growing.

"Fall is a wonderful time to get incredible pictures and just slow down and be with your family outside," Paul said. "The buzz might be what gets you there, but the experience of being there is what keeps you there."

Paul also thinks her central location makes the farm unique. She described it as a one-stop shop for rural life conveniently located near the city.

"You don't have to make it a whole-day trip out to the country," Paul said. "You can have a soccer game in the morning and still enjoy a day on the farm."
