FIVB leadership honored at IF Transition Seminar in Lausanne
January 22, 2025.- The FIVB leadership were honored with an Olympic
Games Paris 2024 torch and commemorative medals during the International
Federation (IF) Transition Seminar for LA28, held this week at Olympic
House and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The prestigious gifts were presented by the International Olympic
Committee (IOC) and Paris 2024 to all IFs as a gesture of gratitude for
their important contributions to the success of the Olympic Games. The
recognition celebrated the collaboration and dedication that helped
deliver a record-breaking edition of the Games, which engaged over 5
billion people globally.
Reflecting on the success of Paris 2024, FIVB President Fabio Azevedo
said:
�The Olympic Games in Paris were a fantastic celebration of volleyball,
beach volleyball and the Olympic Movement as a whole. It was an
extraordinary summer that brought the world together in the spirit of
sport and unity. As we reflect on these incredible achievements, the
FIVB remains committed to spreading the Olympic values globally and
bringing people together through volleyball.�
The Transition Seminar provided an opportunity for members of the
Olympic Family to reflect on the accomplishments of Paris 2024 and set
the stage for another chapter of Olympic history in LA. |
