We are proud to celebrate UK Black History Month as a Global Milestone at AMS. It's a time to recognize the contributions of Black people to British culture, history, and economy, and to learn more about Black history. This year’s theme, “Reclaiming Narratives,” is an invitation to celebrate and take control of the stories told about people of African heritage in the UK and ensure these voices are heard. Narratives hold immense power in shaping our perceptions of the past, present, and future. Unfortunately, the history of Black communities has frequently been distorted, oversimplified, or completely disregarded in mainstream storytelling. This has resulted in a lack of recognition for the diverse and profound experiences of those within these communities. During the month, our Black Employee Network ERG will be sharing information and content with our global colleagues on significant historical figures, cultural milestones, and personal stories that have influenced the Black experience in the UK.
